A really strange fit.
A really strange fit. According to the size guide I’m an XL so that’s what I bought. I’m 6ft 1in and 90kg, maybe a bit bulkier than a typical cyclist build, with “normal” length arms. I don’t know who this jacket is built for, but it’s not me. After about 30 minutes cycling, my arms go numb because it’s so tight around my shoulders. I went on a 90 minute ride and the next day I had actual pain in my shoulder. The cuffs of the sleeves come to my knuckles so you can’t wear a sports watch. There is no elasticity in any part of the jacket so it just feels so restrictive. Ultimately it’s probably just the wrong size, but I’m always a Large in everything, i only sized up following the Rapha guide. Super waterproof though!

Superb
This jacket performs superbly. Since purchase I've been on a couple of 2 hour plus rides in grim conditions, cold (3-5 degrees C) and intermittent showers. With a mesh base and merino l/s mid, this kept me bone dry and warm. So good is the warmth the thin thermal lining provides I had to raise the bottom zip to provide some cooler air. I also like the sleeve zips, configurable for a variety of glove choices. Fit is definately pro, the jacket feels superb hunkered down on the drops. Pocket position initially feels different to other jackets, but works well when on the bike.
Goretex material is as you'd expect, the advice to size up spot on as it doesn't stretch.

For natures worst, this is the jacket.
The blue and orange combo really works, great visibility in heavy rain / low light riding.
The wind blocking is excellent. You feel nothing when the wind is smashing your chest. The zips on the forearms and centre are stiff and require more effort to operate, which is actually a good thing and I would highly expect an intentional design. You don’t want a slightly open zip to start creeping down when riding hard, exposing yourself to wind and rain.
Waterproof is as expected from GORE-TEX, superb and lightweight. I’ve been out in heavy rain and high winds, I was warm and dry. A small almost unnoticeable (but very important) detail of having a small drainage hole in the rear pockets means you won’t be lugging water balloons on your back in heavy downpours.
If you have muscular arms, you may struggle with this jacket being comfortable, as there is no stretch in the material. If you are an athletic build, you’ll be fine.
Stood up, you’ll feel a bit like a robot due to the rigidity of the fabric. On the hoods, bars or drops the fabric gives you that little give where needed and you forgot you are wearing a coat.
If you want to cycle in what ever nature throws at you, look good while doing it AND stay warm and dry…this is the coat for you.

Men's Pro Team Insulated GORE-TEX Rain Jacket
Very, very good looking piece of kit!
Fit: very, very nice. Stand up it is tight on chest and shoulders; however, on bike is perfect, despite the fabric doesn't stretch at all. My advice is to stay with the same size as the PT jersey, otherwise it will flaps (or if you want a very relaxed fit on bike).
Warm: the jacket is warm, but not too much. I rode two hours in a 2 C - 10 C range and was always OK (with a merino ls base layer and the LS RCC Jersey);
All in all, I'm very pleased with this purchase.

what's not to like well apart from the price maybe
Worn through the winter and has become almost the only jacket I need when it gets cold and wet. Breathes really well and has held up very well to 8 hours + of constant rain and wind. When I know I am going to be working hard and even in 0-5 deg temp have been able to wear with just a thermal base layer underneath and kept warm without overheating.

Fabulous!!!
This jacket, along with the deep winter base layer, kept me so warm at 0 degree C I could not believe it! The ride previous I needed 3 layers! This combo is incredible. I love how the zipped cuffs neatly tick into the pro team winter gloves. I did size up from M to L after reading other reviews, I think that was right and only occasionally noticed some flapping from behind the shoulder. I think a M would be too tight in places. I am 5ft 11.5inch and 70 kg. After a strong effort I was feeling the warmth. Amazing jacket! Have not used in the rain yet.

Performs well but proportions don't suit me
The jacket itself is very good. Keeps the rain out and keeps you warm. Breathability is not great being gore tex.
The proportions does not suit me. The waist and chest fits perfectly but sleeve length is too long. I am 163cm with arm in seam length of 42cm. The jacket inseam arm length is 61cm.

So close to perfect
Feels nice and with great details incl. the functional zip pocket. I had to return it as something with the fit does not match the other Pro Team jackets and jerseys. The shoulder width, arm length, and narrow wrist seem mismatched.

Great for wet and or windy days
New go to Jacket - even if not wet! Riding in the wind is now much more bearable, breathes well and cosy. Just SS base if the mercury goes up its still cosy against the skin so more than just a winter jacket. Bottom Zips should be on everything and a welcome addition as are the 2 large rr pockets, Recommend for sure

I really wanted to like this jacket
First of all the jacket looks stunning - I have the blue/orange colour - and the quality is excellent as you'd expect from Rapha. Unfortunately it doesn't lived up to my expectations. First the good points: it works in cool rainy windy conditions thanks to gore-tex fabric. Visibility is excellent for the light blue/orange combination. Two pockets in the back and zipped chest pocket is enough to carry the essentials. The bad points: the cut of the jersey is unforgiving at the lower arms and around chest. I always wear size medium in pro team range (180cm tall and 73kg) and sometimes small in the classic range. While this jacket just fitted me on the bike the fabric hardly fitted my lower arms and it was impossible to reach the pockets due to how tight the fit was over the chest/shoulders and the lack of stretch in the fabric. Standing up I felt like the jacket would rip anytime. Furthermore the pockets in the back are too high to reach if you stick to your usual size. I wish the jacket was longer - both front and back. You can of course size up (as I reluctantly did) but the cut will be fairly baggy that defeats the point of being pro team range. Lastly, the jacket's breathability is questionable due to the synthetic insulation. This resulted in an unpleasant smell and need of washing more frequently than normal for a rain jacket. All in all it's good looking jacket but the fit is questionable, would benefit from a stretch fabric in the back and the insulation needs to be changed to a merino based fabric.

Is this the ultimate winter cycling jacket....?
Is it? I'd say it's 95, or even 99% close. But darn those rear pockets. But I am being picky here!
Once I worked out that you need to wear nothing more than a base layer underneath, for those shorter winter rides. Or, if planning something a little longer 'time in the saddle' to keep things ticking over during winter, a summer SS jersey; and only use the rear pockets in the jacket for items that you don't mind getting wet. Then yes, I'd so this is close to the holly grail of jackets.
It's warm, but you get to wear your favourite SS jerseys all year round!

Great jacket…not great sleeve zips !!
Goretex works a dream, no water penetrates through but i still feel damp when working hard in 3-9 degrees. The only issue I have are the sleeve zips, they are nearly impossible to close with one hand, I’ve even resorted to using my teeth, not ideal, why weren’t the water proof type used, they are easier to close or else some type of Velcro, that’s the reason it’s got 4 stars and not 5.

RUNS SUPER HOT and probably a marmite choice...
Bought this as I got wiped out on a roundabout wearing black and promised she who shall be obeyed that I wouldnt wear that colour again. Outside of black, goretex jackets are few and far between so jumped at this especially as got a discount in the sale and liked the colour from a safety POV, but there are a few flaws to be honest. The waist is completely out of kilter to the shoulders, I needed a XXL as couldnt zip the XL at the waist and I used to be just Large. Thus some spare material around the shoulders but I'm not super fast so can put up with that. However the rear pockets are really bad. Theyre way too high and you cant get into them in gloves as no stretch and have to stop. When you take off your gloves to get in the pocket it's really difficult to get winter gloves back on unless over the the sleeves as theyre super slim and as said before none of it has any stretch at all. If you run hot you cant wear this. It's super warm from the off. I do commute early in the morning when its cold in winter and downhill from the off so I've kept it at the price I paid. Good waterproof performance, warm and bright. Unlikely you could pack into a pocket though if you did decide to remove, so it's a wear all ride type of garment. I cant wear a snood with it as need to release some heat, but it is growing on me as I manage the temperature it generates and think I'll get enough use December to February. Hopefully makes me ride when I might otherwise I may not.

Cold weather riding = enjoyable!
It’s pretty remarkable how effective this jacket is in keeping you warm, yet still allowing your core to breathe. I think that’s where layering properly makes a significant difference for not only the outside temperature but also your expected output on the ride. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this jacket, most of them suggesting to size up because the gore-tex does not stretch. However I found one review that said to stick with your normal PT jersey size and the jacket will be tight in the shoulders and chest when standing up, however when you are in riding position the jacket will fit perfectly. I’m glad I went with that advice, because it was spot on. This jacket is a must have if you ride a lot in the winter and the cold shoulder seasons.

Comes up very small
Looks like a fantastic winter jacket but the sizing is very bad. Bought an XL but the arms are still extremely narrow. It's hard too imagine being able to wear anything more substantial than a baselayer underneath. I couldn't even get the zippers to meet. Way too small given it's supposed to fit a 44in chest.

L too tight - XL too big
I'm 187 cm and weight 77 kg usually wear M of the Rapha range, so I sized UP to an L for this one, unfortunately even without any garment underneath I had issues closing the zippers on the arms and the range of motion was really tight, I couldn't reach the back pockets with the jacket closed. So I sized UP again to an XL which is unfortunately too flappy and large all aroud. Now I really don't know what to do because I really like the jacket but the fit does not suit me.

Lower the Pockets to Raise the Stars
I can echo a few points raised by other reviewers. First, the jacket runs small; I'm 5'-10", 150 lbs and I needed a large. As mentioned by others, the fit feels awkward when standing or hanging out, but as soon as you get onto the bike the fit is perfect. The wrist zippers take some getting used to, but they do seem functional as there is no excess material in the arms and thus zero flapping.
I've had the chance to use the jacket a few times in cold conditions and it's surprisingly warm. At 30 degrees F with wind and snow, the jacket is warm enough (for me) with only a thermal base layer beneath. I've only ridden in snow, so I can't speak to the water resistance in a downpour.
The jacket looks great, but then you already know that.
My one complaint, and why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars: the rear pockets are just too high. I can barely manage to get one hand into one side (my more flexible shoulder). The other side, no way. If the pockets were fixed this jacket would be perfect. As is, it's still my favorite jacket.

So close......
Initially ordered the XL as L measurements appeared they would be tight. It was far too big. So L ordered. Fits across my 101cm/40" chest. I'm 76kg and 5'9". For me the arms are very slightly too long. It just rucks up a little with my winter gloves over the sleeve. This is not a deal breaker by any means. It is just that 1 star away from perfect. I cannot fault the warmth and waterproofness. With just a LS baselayer underneath, I am lovely and warm. No wind gets through this jacket.
Some reviews say the pockets are too high. Well maybe a tad, but I'm being fussy. The little zipped pocked on the chest is good. Sleeve zips are stiff, but I have never had to undo them mid ride.
Overall I think this jacket is superb at what it is supposed to do. Yes it's expensive. But then good usually is.

Very good but very tight fit
Very good and really happy with this jacket. With only one baselayer warm enough for a winter rise (10dC). But: fit is very tight, I had to go up 2 sizes (L > XXL; normally at Rapha I have to go up 1 size).

Impressively insulated and hydrophobic!
Tried it on at first with regular clothes and my first impression was that the fit was very weird and I probably would return it. But once I wore it with cycling clothes it felt a lot better. I am usually a size M but sized up one step as suggested, which was a good decision. I'm 170 cm and 79 kg.
Did a test ride for about 2 hours in foggy weather, 5-6°C, with a light drizzle in the beginning and quite a downpour in the end. Wearing a pro team base layer, a classic merino jersey and merino arm warmers I felt warm pretty much the whole ride, except for when I had been standing still for about 5 minutes, mid ride. But the coldness was mostly coming from my arms and legs (wearing an older version of the Rapha winter tights). A pair of winter arm warmers would probably have been a better choice. Didn't feel the need to wear a buff since the jacket has pretty good coverage around the neck.
Every part of me that wasn't covered by the jacket was soaked after the ride, so it is definitely rain proof!
Just a couple of downsides. Back pockets got wet and for me it was a bit flappy by the shoulders. And it's quite pricey.

Tight Fit - Disappointed
Disappointed, as looks fantastic and of really good Rapha quality.
In the Pro-Team range I always size up to XL from Large, but fit is awful, especially around arms & shoulders and rides up at the back.
I would recommend jumping 2 sizes for this item.
Really disappointing.

Great piece. Ride in North East US. So 25F temp swing can happen. Only warn ounce in good rain but high 40F. Felt like it good go 10-15F cooler. Was not clammy or over heated but not zip closed. Like zipper cuffs. Will test in colder conditions but so far spot on. I went xlrg at 6’ and 173lbs. Pro stuff fits tight & as a jacket want layers. Don’t race, intervals& 1-4+ hour rides. Been cycling for decades- Wilgo out in sub/freezing conditions.

Be warned! Runs Small!
I was super excited to order this and use it. I know from previous orders that Rapha runs small. I wouldn't say i am obese, but i am not skinny either. So i ordered myself an XL. I wear XL dress shirts and t-shirts and they fit fine. Dude, I couldn't even zip the XL jacket. It was way too small. Now I either have to suck about 30 lbs of weight or reutn it.
