Not as good as previous versionsI dont usually review products but felt inclined with this one. I dont wear other brands and am always super happy with Rapha products. I think the design needs to be looked at to follow previous winter hats which were much more fit for purpose. It doesnt cover the ears, rides up and ive taken to wearing a head band to counter act its deficiencies.

Gore-Tex wind stopperWasn’t to sure of this for the price, but after using it on the last few rides I can honestly say you don’t even know it’s on your head and really does work well, rode in 3 degrees and it more then kept
my ears and head warm without overheating. Typical Rapha quality as always.

Good Protection for cooler weatherBlocks wind and is warm enough for most cool to cold weather riding. I used it several times. It fits fine under my helmet, and I like the safety reflective accents.

Excellent Thermal HatI have been wearing this thermal hat after a cold swim and cycle home. It slides on easily, is warm and comfortable to wear and also looks great (under a helmet).

Windstopper.Waterproof as it says on the tin but I felt that the overall size was a little small and did not completely cover my ears but this is still a useful product.

thermal hatThe hat is too small to cover my ears fully resulting in a lot of wind noise
I bought one but I would like to know before wearing if it has PFAS or a similar chemical.

This uses a PFC free DWR, but since it’s made from ePTFE we can’t officially say it’s totally PFC free. We are moving away from all PFCs with a target of PFC Free within 2025.

How does the hat affect hearing? I have a similar (non-rapha) thin hat but have had to cut a couple of little ear-holes to be able to hear fellow riders in the group unlike with the winter cap that has knitted sides that I can hear fine with.
Asked by: GrantS
Although we do not have scientific testing results, in our wear testing we have observed there is no huge impact to hearing, as we are using a fleece grid headband that covers the ears. This means that the headband part of the hat is relatively open, as fleece is a knit and the laminated material is on the sides and front of the hat.
Practically that means a soft and comfortable fleece grid over the ears which keeps the wind noise down, the ears comfortable, but doesn't close off the ears.
This is of course based on various opinions, and circumstances and hearing experiences can be different per person.

Hi there,
If your size is 58 or 59, what is the right size to take?
Small/Medium or Medium/Large?
It isn't clear on your size/measurements details.
Thanks

If your size is 58 or 59 we would recommend a size M/L.
