Highly Versatile Jacket
I bought this jacket as a mid layer for really cold days. So far, I have worn it over a long sleeved base layer, and under a winter jersey. With winter cloves, thermal tights and shoe covers, I'm comfortable with this set-up riding below 0 degrees C. However, I think this jersey is much more versatile than that. I can see myself wearing it through out the year in different configurations, on all but the warmest summer days. I don't think this is as snug as a typical Rapha garment. This works well for me given my primary purpose of using it in winter, but you might struggle to get a tight layer or waterproof over the top of it.

Warm, works well for intended use
Owned several pieces of Rapha kit over the years, specifically the classic line. The arm length is a bit long and gets "bunchy" in spots but I may be a bit of an odd size (5"11/220lbs) The material isn't quite the same as previous classic jerseys, feels less wool and more synthetic with the potential to snag easier. Rapha logo on all other classic jerseys was embroidered in the 'white arm band' but now it just embossed. I get the impression they're sliding slowly away from the once premium brand they were. Will have to see how this jersey stands up over time. However, it's still a good jersey functions as expected.

Not what they were, poor service and shipping
Just doesn't have the finish and fit they used to have. Also, service is noticeably poorer and shipping markedly slower (since shifting courier providers)...no chat available in our timezone. Sadly other brands have overtaken in terms of value and quality...which is sad to say as someone who has been a Rapha customer for 10 yrs...

First Ride Impressions
Used this jersey last night as a mid layer, underneath an insulated jacket and overtop of a long sleeve wool base layer. Went for a winter evening fat bike ride with the pooch. Temperature on the truck said -7 C. The jersey performed as designed and felt comfortable as a mid layer. Got the jersey at a great end of year price. It would be nice if Rapha could add some more aesthetics to this jersey other than the reflective arm band... This is the second merino wool long sleeve cycling jersey from Rapha that I have. So far I'm liking this clothing upgrade. Been following the Rapha wool care instructions to ideally make this jersey last long. The true test will be this upcoming spring cycling season.

Disappointing after service
Disapointed with customer servcie , i biught this jersey end of november as a christmas gift for my husband it didnt fit well, and so wanted to return it. However i have been told i cant as over 30 days i understand the rest of the year this is more then ample time but at christmas you buy gifts in advance.i have contaced customer service they said standard reply follow link for returns procedure, then it tells me again i ca t return. Over the years i have purchased a lot of items ftom rapha i wont any more.

Stylish and quality
Quality as usual, but take note that this type of material (mureno) falls larger then the other jerseys. I have xl and they are slightly bigger then my other stuff. Aspecialy the sleeves are really long.

Compared to other jackets from Rapha this is bigger in size. Feels not so good.

Versatile classic
Second classic jersey - first one bought years ago & still great. Comfortable, elegant & beautifully made. Seems a little looser than the earlier jersey (large - 78kgs)

What would be the recommended base layer garment to pair with this classic long sleeve merino jersey?
I would recommend pairing the Men's Classic Long sleeve Jersey with either a Lightweight base layer or one of our Merino base layers.

What is the arm length like in comparison to the Long Sleeve Core Jersey?

I am a reasonably fit rider- 6.00 feet tall - 43 inc chrst- 33 waist I recently bought a rapha large and its very tight -inprefer a losser fit -should i order an xl
Hello, in this case if you would prefer a looser fit and you feel the jersey in size L is too tight I would suggest sizing up to the XL. The XL size guide notes a chest measurement of 44 and the L a chest measurement of 41

Hi. I am five foot four inch tall male. I have 86 cm chest, 69 cm waist, and 87 cm hips measurements. My question is would an XS size be small enough for me?
A size XS should fit, but may be a bit more relaxed fitting.

how does the fit compare to the Brevet long sleeve jersey? do they differ in torso length?
Hi I have a core jersey in medium and decent fit sounds like there is more room in classic I would size down to small but I don’t want to loose the arm length?
