Quality is king until it isn't
As the new RCC kit choice I saddled up and ordered 2 pairs when my trusted black ones finally split their chamois after 2 years of loyal service. The new one are longer in the leg ( which at 6'4" i love) and the fit is spectacular...good compression. The down side is the product make quality both pairs have gone back after only 2 to 3 weeks riding with defects the previous pairs only showed after 12 to 18 months. Notably the stitching on the chamois coming undone and the chamois snapping on each of the "fingers. Given Rapha is about quality above all I honestly can not recommend them.

Normally great, but not this time…
I’ve got 9-10 pairs of pro team bibs amassed over the last few years. Consistently the same (perfect for me) fit each time. Hopefully Ive just been unlucky on this occasion as the fit is way off… the leg gripper opening is around 1cm larger than all previous pairs so they get baggy, flap in the wind and move about, very annoying! Sadly after about 12 wears they are now consigned to the turbo trainer. I’ll pick up another pair next spring but for a premium garment at 200 quid a pop it’s not really good enough.

RCC Pro Team quality control
I have 3 bibs. Core, Core Cargo and RCC Pro Team. I thought the quality control for the RCC pro team is not as good as the core and core cargo. The stitching starts displaying after 2 rides in comparison to the core series where the stitching only starts coming off 6 months on. I’ll buy the core bib over the pro team bib anytime.

Poor chamois quality
Started happy with the new RCC kit. Fits well and I like the design. After a couple of rides the chamois splitted. Rapha arranged a new pair of bibshorts but two rides later the chamois splitted again. As an RCC member I’m really disappointed with this poor quality as this looks likes a poor quality pattern rather than a coincident. Didn’t experience this with other quality brands. Customer service will come with a solution I suppose but my trust in sustainable quality solution is low.

Excellent customer service!
These were purchased with discount $ to replace a pair that was worn out. The bibs were lost in the mail system and immediately resent when I called support.

Best bib shorts I own
These are my favourite bib shorts by far I have all the other Rapha bibs but these are the best for comfort and sit really well on the thighs also fantastic on hot days
The material is amazing and soft to touch also great on the skin I ride long distance (100miles+) most rides so it’s important to me that they are comfortable and it goes without saying if you already own a set of rapha bibs the pads are the best money can buy I’ve tried many other makes and they don’t come close

They've grown on me.
There are several reviews that pre-date the release of these shorts. This review is for the new kit, released in Summer '21. I tried these shorts on in the Amsterdam Clubhouse and was initially unsure of the new length of the leg. They're listed as "Regular" but they are much longer than previous versions, reaching to the top of the knee - apparently all-the-trend now. My main area of concern was the loose fit of the new type of gripper. In a standing position, the gripper is baggy although the rest of the short is a comfortable fit. A smaller size (I take an L - 180cm and 80kg) might improve the gripper but then the thighs would be tighter and the straps shorter. Anyroad, after humming and hawing I ended up buying them online to complement the already purchased jersey. And now I'm hooked. They're very comfortable on long rides, and in a cycling position the gripper fits perfectly - and no wavy marks.

The Gold Standard (at least for me)
I've tried so many bibs over the years across many major and niche brands and Rapha consistently rises to the top with the Pro Team Bib Shorts II. The chamois is incredibly comfortable despite it's thin profile and I never have soreness or chafing. The leg grippers hold their position well even on hot sweaty days and I never feel overheated.
The only knocks I would give are the slightly long length (I'm 170cm tall and prefer slightly shorter bibs) and more privacy for my naughty bits.
That aside, these should be at the top of your list when you need new kit.

Is the Mens RCC Pro Team Bib Shorts II, the exactly the same as the non RCC ones? All the non RCC ones, are sold out, in XS.
I can confirm that the shorts themselves are the same; the RCC version is simply in the club colours/logos.

Will the Powerweave bibs coming in may replace these or are they supposed to be a lighter alternative for hot weather riding?
The Powerweave Pro Team bib shorts will not replace the Pro team bib shorts II . Despite the fabric on the Powerweave Pro Team bib shorts will be lighter than the fabric used on the Pro team bib shorts II , it is not meant to replace the Flyweight version of the Pro Team bib shorts we were used to produce. Please wait the launch for further information.
