The RCC has partnered with leading bike brand Open Cycle to bring you the best riding experience when you’re on the move. The new fleet of bikes will be available in Clubhouses in September 2022.

We want our members to be able to ride wherever they are in the world. So we set up our Clubhouse cycle hire scheme to let you ride with the club whether you’re home or away. Offering high-spec bikes from our partners at OPEN, we also provide the best route recommendations in the region when you book.

We are excited to be introducing our new bike partners, OPEN, into our Clubhouse network around the world from Summer 2022. Based in Switzerland, OPEN are synonymous with performance bikes and go by the motto of “working hard to stay small”, through their concise offering of multi-discipline bikes. Please note that some locations will offer Canyon Endurace bikes until our new partner bikes have arrived.

How do I book?
Bookings are made online, where you’ll be able to see what bikes are available, in which locations. When you collect, you’ll be asked to read and sign the waiver and terms and conditions.

How do I know my size?
If you’re unsure of your size, please use Canyon’s Perfect Positioning System to calculate which frame size you should hire.

How does the sizing compare between Open and Canyon?
Use the Canyon’s Perfect Positioning System We recommend you refer to the sizing & geometry chart of the Open U.P. (sizes S-XL) or Open WI.DE. to determine your ideal frame size, as the sizing and geometry cannot be directly transferred between the two brands and their models.
Please see below an approximate size chart between the Canyon Endurace and Open U.P. and WI.DE.:

- Canyon Endurace WMN CF SL 8.0 2XS - > - Open WI.DE. XS
- Canyon Endurace CF SL 8.0 2XS/XS - > - Open U.P. S
- Canyon Endurace CF SL 8.0 S/M - > - Open U.P. M
- Canyon Endurace CF SL 8.0 L - > - Open U.P. L
- Canyon Endurace CF SL 8.0 XL - > - Open U.P. XL

Can I race this bike?
No. All warranty and damage liability waivers will become null and void. You would be liable for the full price of the bicycle in the case of any damage.

Can I rent a bike for friends and family?
You may only hire a bike for yourself to ride.

Can I travel with a hired bike?
No, bikes cannot be flown with or taken beyond a reasonable distance of their hire location.

What do I need to bring when I pick up my bike?
You will need to present photo ID at the time of hire.
Members must provide their own shoes, clipless pedals, helmet, bidons, lights and any other equipment required to ensure their safety and comfort. We also recommend a saddle bag with a tube, levers and pump.

How do I measure my saddle height?
Measure the distance in centimetres between the centre of your crankset and the top of your saddle on your current bike, in the middle of the saddle rails.

When can I collect my bike?
You can collect your bike from the designated Clubhouse during opening hours on the first day of hire. Find all Clubhouse opening hours here.

How long does it take to collect a bike?
We ask that you allow 30 minutes to collect or return a bike. This allows time to sign the appropriate paperwork, ensure the bike is set up to your preference, and check that everything is in working order.

Can I collect early?
Early collection can be arranged in rare circumstances, subject to availability. Adding a day incurs an additional day's hire charge.

What happens if a bike is damaged or stolen?
You should contact the Clubhouse immediately in the case of damage or theft. The RCC provides a supplementary damage and theft liability waiver, included in the price of hire. This waiver won’t apply if you breach the terms and conditions of hire. All bikes will be thoroughly inspected upon return. If a bike is returned damaged we will contact you within 48 hours.

Can I read the hire terms and conditions before I collect my bike?
Of course, you can find them here.

How much notice does a Clubhouse need for bike bookings?
Bookings must be made at least two days in advance. The furthest in advance a bike can be hired is 90 days. At times of high demand, try to book as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment.

How often can I book a hire bike?
Members can book one hire period per 7 days, per Clubhouse. This is to ensure a greater availability of bikes for all members. Multiple bookings within a 7 day period will be cancelled or declined by the Clubhouse.
