Loving My Insulated Trail JacketFirst off, the sizing runs quite small. I do struggle with being in between medium and Large sized Rapha Garments. The medium insulated trail jacket is way too small, so I went with the Large and it fits great. The return process on the medium was seamless and had a Large soon after. Props to Rapha for the easy free returns.
I really like wearing this jacket on the bike as it is still late winter/early spring. It gives an appropriate amount of insulation for a high output activity. It takes the edge off the wind. One thing to note, the hood can be a bit flappy in the wind. However, I am very please with this jacket and I also love wearing it off the bike when I’m out in town.

Solid piece of MTB kitExcellent MTB jacket and gear. It may not be the ideal for wet days, but it’s excellent for cold days on trail and it’s very breathable.

Lighter than expected. The jacket is quality, but it fits much tighter than the rest of Rapha’s tops. I am usually an XL and this one is pretty snug in the shoulders.

Needs bigger arms but it's great otherwise!Great jacket, kept me warm with just a jersey under it for a ride in the 40s (F). The XL needs a bit bigger arms though. I have the lightweight trail jacket as well and have plenty of room in that one. I can't flex my arm past 90 degrees without restriction, but I am built more like a linebacker than a cyclist.

Does A Great JobExcellent insulation for such a light weight. The double zip allows for good ventilation options & the load carrying is considerable with the pockets available. An excellent jacket for temperatures between 0oc-15oc.

One happy brother..I bought this jacket as a present for my brother, so I have had no experience of wearing it. However, he says he likes it, it's a good fit and looks this business. So, he's a happy brother!

Great jacket. Quality as expected.I got this jacket in the sales at a great price. I love the colour, feels good on. Great jacket
No it is not windproof but it does provide wind resistance due to the DWR coating.

What sort of temperature range is it ideal in?
Asked by: Joey3220
This will depend on your personal preferences as well as what you pair with this jacket (what you wear underneath it) but I would recommend wearing this in 0 to 6 degrees Celsius.

Does this fit true to size, or does it run a bit bigger or smaller? What size is the model wearing?
Asked by: Dono F
Hello, This model wears a size medium and this jacket does have a more relaxed but runs true to size.

What sort of insulation does the jacket use? Is it a fleece / Polartec Alpha style lining or more of a puffer-type Polyester? And is it uniformly distributed throughout the jacket or zoned? Finding it hard to work out from the images.
Asked by: Jon D
We have used Octa insulation for this item and it is placed on strategic placement to bring warmth when you need without overheating. It covers the chest, back, neck and arms but the hood isn't to keep it light and packable.
