How do I book?
Bookings are made online, where you can see what bikes are available in which locations. When you collect, you’ll be asked to read and sign the waiver and terms and conditions.
When do I pay for the bike hire service?
Payment is due at the Clubhouse on collection. The daily fees are charged in the local currency. The daily fee per bike is: £15 / $25 / €20 / A$30 / ¥3000 / TWD 500.00 / 25,000 KRW.
Which size should I choose?
Fit varies greatly between individuals. As a guide, please see this Canyon geometry chart. If you have any questions, please contact the RCC team.
How long can I hire a bike for?
Our maximum hire period is three days.
What do I need to bring when I pick up my bike?
Members must provide their own shoes, clipless pedals, helmet, bidons, lights and any other equipment required to ensure their safety and comfort.
You’ll also need to present photo ID at the time of hire.
We also recommend a saddle bag with a tube and levers, like this.
How do I measure my saddle height?
Measure the distance in centimetres between the centre of your crankset and the top of your saddle on your current bike, in the middle of the saddle rails.
When can I collect my bike?
You can collect your bike from the designated Clubhouse during opening hours on the first day of hire. Find all Clubhouse opening hours here.
How long does it take to collect a bike?
We ask that you allow 30 minutes to collect or return a bike. This allows time to sign the appropriate paperwork, ensure the bike is set up to your preference, and check that everything is in working order.
Can I collect early?
Early collection can sometimes be arranged by the Chapter Coordinator, subject to availability. Adding a day incurs an additional day's hire charge.
What happens if I damage a bike, or it is stolen?
You should contact either the Clubhouse or the local Chapter Coordinator in the case of damage or theft. During the hire, you are liable for damage or loss of the bike up to a maximum value of £10,000. The RCC can provide a supplementary damage and theft liability waiver. The fee for this is £5 / €7 / $10 / ¥800 / A$10 / 45 DKK / 250 TWD / 8000 KRW / 60 HKD per bike, per day. The waiver reduces your liability in the case of damage or theft to £0 and £800 respectively, or local equivalent. This waiver won’t apply if you breach the terms and conditions of hire. The waiver is not mandatory, but without it you will be liable for any damage or losses incurred from theft, up to a maximum value of £10,000. You can see the full waiver here. All bikes will be thoroughly inspected upon return. If a bike is returned damaged we will contact you within 48 hours.
Can I read the hire terms and conditions before I collect my bike?
Of course, you can find them here.
How much notice does a Coordinator need for bike bookings?
Bookings must be made at least two days in advance. At times of high demand, try to book as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment.
Can I race this bike?
No. All warranty and damage liability waivers will become null and void. You would be liable for the full price of the bicycle in the case of any damage.
Can I hire a bike for friends and family?
No, you may only hire a bike for yourself to ride. Hiring a bike for another person would violate the Terms and Conditions of hire.
