Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable, if not the most durable I find these pads very comfortable, and do a good job of protecting from direct impacts. Standouts are the wide upper gripper, which irritates my skin less than narrower ones found on other pads. However, in an OTB crash, the sleeve ripped above the pad and I scraped my knee pretty good. Apparently the Trail Knee Pads aren't covered under Rapha's repair program. I contacted Rapha asking if they at least offered a crash replacement discount like other companies, and never got a response. So I deducted 1 star from my rating. That said, my second pair (the first ones were the ones that got ripped) are still the ones I reach for first when I go out for a ride.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pedal friendly knee pads! I've used knee pads from several different brands, and these are by far the best for me and my style of riding. I want knee pads that are pedal friendly, don't move around, don't bunch behind the knee, and offer moderate protection. These knee pads hit all of the marks. With much gear regardless of brand, I am between sizes; however, although a bit snug, the good thing is that they do not slip down or bunch up. I don't notice them while riding, which is perfect. The Rapha lettering is a glued on labeling that has fallen off after a few months of use; however, I'm not upset as it makes them even more "stealth" than they are currently. I would definitely recommend these to someone looking for a pedal friendly option

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice with a couple big issues These knee pads are very comfortable and breathe pretty well. Took a fall and they held up well and my knees were protected. My biggest issues were they always slide down a bit once I start to peddle. Gets to be irritating always having to pull them up. I also had the seam blow out when I was putting them on. Was only my second ride with these pads. I’d read some other reviews say the same thing happened to them so I was trying to be careful and the seams still ripped out. I can still ride with them but for they high price was hoping for better durability.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable protection I have beefier knee protection that I rarely wear because they aren’t comfortable for pedaling. I bought these with the main hope they’d be comfortable enough to always wear. They are super comfortable and I don’t mind 2-hour climbs with these. I haven’t fallen yet, but I figure protection only works if you wear it so I’m really happy with these. I often buy XL, but used the sizing guide and bought L and that was good for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Protection I was in a bike park and crash landed on my knees with these on. The impact must have been quite hard as I could see my 'RHEON patterned' bruise on my knee later that day. I was fine other than that. I cannot imagine how bad it would have been if I didn't have them on. I am in between sizes and I bought the M first and then the S size. I am still wearing the M. The S size may be a little snug (not tight) for my liking. However, I think it should stay on more if there's a crash that drags my knee on the ground. Overall a fantastic slim fit product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid pads These are some of the most comfortable pads I’ve worn. Hardly even feel like they are there when riding. Pedaling uphill is comfortable and I haven’t noticed any seams anywhere that would create hot spots. The grippers hold the pads in place but aren’t so strong that it’s uncomfortable. I haven’t laid them in the dirt yet, but the ceramic beads feels like they’d hold up really well. In fact, the only downside I can think of is the ceramic beads have actually slightly scuffed the paint on my top tube.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing pads amazing service! I did not want to take another risk buying uncomfortable knee pads I would not wear and I knew I could trust Rapha to deliver comfort! These pads are amazingly comfortable, soft material and padding, flexible and barely noticeable when pedaling. The only issue I have is that they are slightly warm but that is not really avoidable with any pads. If you are in between sizes I might consider sizing up. I was between small and medium and medium is perfect!

Are the smaller sized pads shorter than the larger ones? Whats the total length of these? My current pads overlap with my socks and I'dlike to fix that.

The knee pad portion itself (the part that sits on your knee) is the same size across all sizes. The length of the entire garment does vary however from size to size by 1 cm except from XS to S. The overall lengths of each size in the front and back are as follows: XS Center Front: 45.59 cm S Center Front: 45.59 cm M Center Front: 46.59 cm L Center Front: 47.59 cm XL Center Front: 48.59 cm XS Center Back: 34.44 cm S Center Back: 34.44 cm M Center Back: 35.44 cm L Center Back: 36.44 cm XL Center Back: 37.44 cm Please note that these length measurements include the leg grippers.
