Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rapha Trail Gore-tex infinium jacket Keeps you dry and comfortable in the heavy rain. The breathability is great, helping to avoid the usual clamminess that you can experience with waterproof cycling jackets. It’s well cut allowing for layering beneath. The weight & handle of the jacket is superb. The compact chest pockets are also well balanced. Not the cheapest waterproof cycling jacket on the market but it does exactly all you can ask and won’t let you down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wicks heat, wind proof a light weight I love my Rapha trail infinium jacket. This jacket is perfect for winter riding in the Southern California mountains. I usually ride mtb early mornings and this jacket keeps me warm. This doesn't have pit zips but is very good in wicking sweat while climbing. Very light weight so you can easy pack this in your backpack as well. My only negative is the wrist cuff as I wish it was adjustable with velcro but not a deal breaker as it saves some grams and makes it easier to pack. I'm 5'6", 135lbs and size small is not loose or tight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I admit I bought this jacket for city riding and returned despite excellent sale price and material. The cut is great, far better than Gore jackets of similar fabric. But… napoleon pockets are oddly positioned and impossible to use with a backpack and the hood doubles as parachute. Why you need such large hood on trails is beyond me, particularly as Infinitum fabric is not waterproof. Still a great jacket, but I am saving for Explorer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Goretex Infinium - not waterproof - be aware I saw the 'Goretex' brand name so reckoned it would have the usual high lever waterproofness we expect with Goretex. Until Someone told me the Infinium sub brand means its not - its windproof and water resistant only. Now, using a word like 'Infinium' might also lead one to believe its even more waterproof than usual. Should have read the small print! So definitely not worth the money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great look and feel, not sure if suited for MTB Loved the fit of this piece. I got the purple color version of it and didn't expect for some of the material to be a different color, it kind of takes away from Rapha's usual minimal look without looking too techy. I was somewhat disappointed as one of my first falls I landed on a bush and some of the branches pulled on the fabric and started to come undone, like when a soft sweater gets stuck on something and the threads start to unravel. Expected something more durable coming from a piece that is meant for MTB.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket Best MTB jacket I haver had. Super comfortable, great at keeping the rain out, and useful pockets. Ordered a Small but received a X-Small, however the sizing is perfect so I kept it (still find it strange I can fit in an X-Small, as all my other Rapha garments are Small). I run very hot and although the jacket is very breathable I still get a bit damp inside. Cannot use if temperature is above 12º, even with just a lightweight mesh base-layer. Because of this I cannot give it 5 stars.

Is this jacket too warm for riding in 55 Fahrenheit/13 Celsius? If so, what is the higher temperature you would recommended for riding in it (with thin base layer without additional layering)?

55F/13C is about the highest temperature I would recommend wearing this jacket in with just a base layer underneath.

Hi I plan to wear my xs size MEN'S EXPLORE DOWN JACKET underneath this jacket. Will this have sufficient room to accommodate the down jacket if I get it in XS as well?

We would recommend sizing up in the trail jacket if you plan to wear another jacket underneath it, particularly the down jacket as it is quite "fluffy."

Is this recommended for riding in full on rain, or more for drizzley days? The gortex website doesn’t seem to recommend the Infinitim range for wet weather.

This jacket is not waterproof, therefore we do not recommend wearing it in pouring rain. It is a good jacket to use as a shell in the wind and on drizzly days, or days when there is a possibility for you to get caught in a light shower.

How do you roll down the the hood and cinch it away?

You can simply roll the hood up and use the elastic bungee pieces above and below the hood by hooking them together to keep the hood rolled up and out of the way.

Is this jacket suitable for everyday outer shell  use in dry and 0-20 degrees Celsius weather as well? Or is it a „just for rain“ jacket?

This jacket is a dynamic shell that is suitable for an every day shell for mountain biking in cold weather. It is great in cold/windy/slightly rainy weather. Please note that this jacket is not fully waterproof, but it is highly water resistant.

I purchased the Pro Team Gore-tex rain jacket in XL and it’s snug for road riding.  Should I purchase the same XL in the Trail jacket as both size charts are the same? Presumably the trail jacket isn’t quite as fitted and allows room for pads etc?

The Pro Team line is meant to fit quite snug. We do recommend the same size in the Trail Jacket as it fits more relaxed and does allow room for padding.
