Perfect base layer
I’ve been using this base layer for a month now. Actually using it for yoga just now, as it’s summer. I don’t normally like this type of material against my skin but this product is an exception. Incredibly comfortable, looks great and a nice fitted feel. The stretch in the product is just right. I’d liked it so much I bought 2. The styling is also really nice, lots of people at the gym have tight Lycra base layers. I think this looks much more classy and stylish. I’m 5’11 cyclist build and went for the medium. I normally go large on the jerseys as I find that fits better but medium base layer is perfect.

Best base layer. Period.
I’ve used a shirt (actually worn it out) like this as a base layer on winter rides, as the only shirt on a three day mtb bikepacking trip and as the only shirt on a four day mountain hike. It is equally useful as a warmth when it’s cold or as a nice thin layer in summer. I will use it when going cross country skiing this winter. When Rapha introduces mtb clothing I hope it is as good as this! I bought a long sleeve and a short sleeve version as a replacement for my worn out short sleeve of exactly the same kind. It’s been through countless washes and is still wearable albeit a little thin and with some holes in it. One of Rapha’s best products.

A fine product, excellent wool. I take off one star for the gigantic logo on the very front of the shirt, just under the neck. It already has a logo on the bottom and just makes it seem kind of ridiculous having a big logo in that place. I could see if for a someone under a sponsorship but not for a person paying for the product.
I have a lot of Rapha products and they are among my favorite. However, I would like to see a lot less visible branding and logos, or for more offerings of lines for riders that wish to have cleaner, more discreet cycling kits.

Good, not great
The material is quite thin-- basically translucent. You can, for example, see a coat hanger through the material if you hang it up in your closet, which I have stopped doing, btw. As a result, I have some worries as to its ability to stand up to time and usage.
I am a bit disappointed with the product given how expensive the shirt was, so value is another issue. LL Bean made a better merino shirt for a fraction of the price of this shirt, but they stopped offering it last year and that I why I moved on to try Rapha. All that said, this shirt seems to be well made so I compromised and only deducted one star for now.

It's incredible both for cycling AND for life
This is the most perfect piece of clothing I've ever integrated into my wardrobe. I don't just mean on the bike, either. Yeah, it's a spectacularly effective and comfortable base on committed all-day rides, or on fun little ripper days, or even just going to the store with a backpack; but it's ALSO awesome under a button-down at the theatre, or in the gym, or even just to show off a little extra shape for your partner. And merino means you can probably do two or three of the things above before you have to wash it. In over 40 years I don't think I've ever had a piece of cycling clothing make its way into my day-to-day life but here we are. This is the best base, for ALL parts of your life, hard stop.

Take my money. Softest merino shirt I own.
These are the softest merino undershirts I’ve ever worn. Moving to the northeast two years ago, I’ve been using a well advertised non cycling specific brand for the last two years and rapha changed the game with these. I really love my merino shirt. It’s warm and breathes, as all merino does, but the quality and feel of this merino is incredible. I can’t speak to it’s longevity and I hope it lasts but for now, this stuff is really soft and I hope it lasts!!!! Rapha won’t let you review products passed the recommended time so I’ll have no ability to give you my review a year from now but I think this is one of the few rapha products I whole heartedly endorse as it’s hard to poorly rate undershirts.
WASH THEM BY HAND OR ON DELICATE!!! And you won’t have any bad reviews to give.

So comfortable
I love this base layer so much. It's very comfortable, stylish and it has a great fit. I'm a medium on the bretvet long sleeve and the medium would have been perfect as a cycling base layer. However it was quite tight and I decided to go one size up to large, which is still nicely fitted but looks a bit less like I want to show my muscles if I just wear it to train at the gym or go for spinning without trying look too much ridiculous. I even plan to wear it on nice warm days.

Love my grey one, cream is sheer and see through
Have this in grey and it's great. Just got this in cream and was very disappointed to find out it's sheer and see through. I could imagine the mesh version being see through but very disappointed with the cream one.

I'm debating between this and the Brevet base layer. How do these compare wrt breathability/moisture-wicking and suitability for warmer climes, low-20s? Thanks
This is a merino wool base layer when the Brevet base layer is synthetic fabric used . The Merino base layer will perform better during mid season ride spring / autumn when the Brevet base layer will help you to regulate better in Summer .
