The Pro Team Insulated Rain Jacket pairs a GORE-TEX Paclite Plus® membrane with a synthetic insulated liner to provide unparalleled protection in cold, wet weather conditions. With an abrasion resistant face fabric, the 2L Paclite shell provides durable waterproof protection – certified to Gore’s Black Diamond standard – without compromise on breathability. Inside, 65gsm synthetic insulation delivers class-leading warmth and is also moisture wicking and highly breathable, ensuring you don’t overheat. To keep the elements out, there’s a wide elasticated gripper at the waist, zipped cuffs and a raised collar that is fully lined for maximum protection. There’s space in the internal chest pocket for a phone and cards, while two oversized rear pockets can be accessed easily even when wearing gloves. And for riding in low light conditions, there are reflective Pro Team bars on the sleeves as well as a larger reflective tab between the pockets.

Best winter jacket I've ever had
The best winter jacket I've ever had. And I've been riding for 40 years. Great temperature range. Comfy at 15 F with a base layer and a long sleeve jersey and comfy at 45 degrees and raining with just a base layer. Breathes just right with moderate effort; warms up a tad with hard effort, but what jacket doesn't? I wear a medium in everything Rapha, but I had to return and go up a size to large. As a reference, I'm 6'1", chest 39", waist 31", arms 34". The large is like tailor made for me. Please note the Gore-Tex fabric does not stretch, so the rear pockets, although gusseted a bit, are hard to get into with full gloves or mittens when it is really cold.

Best rain jacket by far
An absolutely fantastic wet weather essential. The small amount of insulation makes a massive difference. I now wear 1 less layer than I used too. Wore twice within first week in really wet conditions. Couldn’t believe I was one dry when I got home. The breathability is excellent. No point being waterproof if it makes you wet on inside. Whilst it says it’s not packable, you can still fold up and carry with you. Ordered both a L and XL to try. Usually L in most brands but chose XL as I’ll wear more in winter and will always have thicker layers underneath. It also had considerably longer tail protection (essential in Scotland!)

Absolutely recommended purchase
Live in London and cycling in January and February can get descent cold, 2-5 C in the morning to 5-8 C in the afternoon and can be really wet.
This jacket just does it all - I would wear it every day (literally) and the water repeling is unbeliveable. I can be wet completely but will be dry under it.
Insulation, which is thin, is made of some kind of magic as I can't wear this jacket above 7 degrees due to being too warm - even fully unzipped I would sweat profusely.
I am 181cm, 100kg, bigger arms from other activities and usually wear XL size on anything Rapha but with this went to XXL - much comfortable.
Long zips on the sleeves are quite cool but have a bit fiddly handles.

Fully waterproof. Never overheated in it
Been wearing it on most days for nearly 2 months in Edinburgh Scotland. Temperature varied between -2 up to 14 degrees C. Under the jacket I wear a thermo top. I did not feel cold at all as its an insulated Jacket and fully waterproof. Riding in heavy rain I stayed dry. Before buying the jacket, I thought it was really overpriced, but believe me, its worth every pound. Highly recommend. Very well made product.

Fit and insulation issues
Not quite what I expected. The insulation is minimal, and this feels more like a windbreaker. My size large feels tight across the chest, arms, and back. I’m 5’ 11.5” and weigh 167 lbs. Given how snug this is, the neck is oddly loose fitting.
It is waterproof. First time I wore it was snowshoeing in sleet and wet snow. Doesn’t quite cover my lower torso when running, but it’s okay when tucked on a road bike.
I would have considered returning it, except it will keep me dry on a wet ride and it works okay on the bike. The loose neck is still a bit of a problem, because it lets in wind and rain.
Cold weather riding will necessitate a base layer and neck gaiter.

Almost there.
Nice design and functionality. Has some quirks, though. The fit is *very* tailored to a bike position. And as the material has absolutely no give, the jacket sits very awkwardly when not on the bike. Also, the sleeves are very narrow, so there's not room for much underneath. Rear pockets are a bit high and hard to reach in to. Dream winter jacket would be the front and sleeves from this one (with a bit more insulation) and a rear section made of Gore Tex Infinium material with some stretch.

Awesome weatherproof fortress
High Quality Gore Tex jacket. It is great in cool/cold weather. The octoloft type lining is just enough to keep you warm when its cold but not too much to overheat when it warms up slightly. This is not for warm days but ideal for mixed season riding and works like a weather proof fortress in heavy rain. Love the two way zip for venting and the inner pocket for phones wallet etc. The rear pockets fit gilets food etc and have drain holes to let any water out. Not sure the jacket needs them, as anything would get wet but they are ok if you bear that in mind. The only minor point is the neck as its quite large for me, and I wear a windproof snood in bad weather. I have the XL as the large is too tight (41"chest 33" Waist). Recommended 9 out of 10.

Rapha's Best Cycling Jacket!
This is the ultimate cycling jacket in my opinion. The body of the jacket is lined with a lightweight insulated honeycomb layer which helps with warmth. The sleeves are also lined with a slightly thicker type of insulation. I have used this jacket in the winter months with just one Rapha merino base layer and a jersey, which has been more than warm enough for all day riding. The fit is the same as a standard Pro Team jacket (I also have the Rapha shakedry and it fits the same). The addition of two rear pockets make this jacket the ultimate go-to garment for harsher riding conditions and the need to keep warm. It has rained on me whilst riding and it's kept me completely dry, oh and it's very breathable so no internal moisture if you do start climbing and the heat notches up. It has a two way zip so great for airing whilst on the move. The sleeves are finshed off with long zippers which can also be loosened on the fly. Buy this jacket like I did if you want a really reliable, versatile, warm, breathable and waterproof jacket that also has storage options. Finally it's expensive, but worth every penny for the performance and versatility.

where exactly is the alpha insulation filling? is this jacket warmer or the classic Gore Tex Winter jacket? How Heavy is it?
This jacket's insulated lining is featured throughout the body and arms, and would be warmer than the Classic GORE-TEX Winter Jacket, which is unlined.

For which temperature do you recommend the jacket? I am looking for something in German spring/ autumn (5-15C). Which jacked it would you recommend?
This jacket is better is colder conditions, and although temperature range will depend on many factors, including your own personal thresholds and preferences, I would say that it would be too warm at 10c. Your temperature range is quite broad, and therefore I would recommend a shell, such as the Pro Team Gore-Tex Rain Jacket, as part of a layering system with a base layer and mid-weight jersey. This will allow you adapt the layers as necessary, depending on both the temperature and weather conditions.

Hi Does this easily fold and fir into a back pocket of a cycling jersey… which of your rain jackets is best when visiting the high mountain passes where rain and cold is possible but hot in the valley and climbing ?

Hello, although the Pro Team winter jacket is warm it is made as a thermal performance jacket for riding in cold, dry conditions. Because you have indicated that your will need protection from the rain I would recommend the Pro Team Insulated Gore-Tex jacket in this case and add layers underneath.
