Excellent jacket
I got this jacket to extend my riding into the colder winter months and it does the job perfectly. I have worn this jacket about 5 times in temperatures ranging from low 30’s to mid 40’s F and it worked great. For reference I am 6’ and 195 lbs and have an athletic build. I have the winter core jersey in a large and it’s form fitting so I opted for an XL in the winter jacket to leave room for layering and it’s perfect. It is a tad big but I fear a large would have been very snug with layers. My only complaint is the zipper is not a two way zipper which would be nice. Other than that I love this piece of kit. Typical Rapha quality and I’m sure will last a very long time.

Great Winter jacket and excellent value for money.
I've worn this jacket for a few weeks of daily commutes and longer weekend rides now and it is fantastic. Very warm and windproof in the right places. Rapha have got this right. The fit is good and some of the details are really well thought out. Love the cuffs for example that fit nicely into gloves with no gaps. Also appreciate that the different material on the back of the jacket allows for a bit of heat to escape when you've built up a head of steam. My only niggle is that the front and back of the jacket are slightly different colours (I have the turquoise colour) its a minor gripe but it does bother me.

Great jacket, almost perfect....
I'm 51 year old, 173cm tall and 84kg (male) and Large fits well in the body but the arms are a little on the long side and the neck a little lose for me. Minor issues that I'm dropping one star for.
I pair the jacket with different baselayers depending on the temperature, at -1°C a deep winter basrlayer was perfect, above 5°C I use a lighter winter basrlayer and it works well. I've been caught in freezing rain and the jacket kept me warm enough and dry in 2 hours of rain. The jacket performed much better than I expected and I believe it did better than a much more expensive one I have from a competing company from Switzerland!
Highly recommended for road cycling in the Irish weather.

Rapha Core Winter Jacket review
The jacket uses a three layer windproof and water resistant fabric across the front half of the jacket for weather protection and a lighter weight stretch fabric across the back and back of arms to aid breathability.
The entire inner face is brushed to improve its thermal properties and increase comfort against the skin. Both cuff and collar feature a softer, ribbed knit section to shield the rider from wind and rain.
Three large pockets are easily accessed when wearing gloves with the right hand pocket also featuring a zippered additional pocket that can fit a phone or other valuables. A dropped tail complete with wide silicon gripper finishes the jacket.

Impressed by how it handled temperature range
Awesome jacket. Did my first ride last weekend. Air temp was around 30F at start and my Karoo registered 24 F after a while with the wind chill. Just had the merino base layer on underneath and was fine. By the end of the ride the temp had risen to 48 or so and the jacket still felt very comfortable. Fit was great too. I’m 6ft 160 and went with large. Got the medium base layer though and that’s perfect. Only reason I’m giving it a 4 is the pockets are a little high but I would definitely buy again. Also really liked that I could try on for size and return if it wasn’t right and super easy to do so. Ow I feel bad giving it a 4…..

Great isolation & comfort
Bought this to ride through the Dutch winters, temps ~-5 to 10 degrees C. Decide to size up based on other reviews to be able to wear some layers below, but I recommend to stay true to size for 2 reasons:
1. It has the space for an extra layer as long as that is a tight fit layer
2. I haven't worn an extra layer except for a short sleeve shirt, and this jacket kept me warm during a 0-degree ride with some moderate wind.
I must admit I'm getting high in temperature quite fast.
Despite the sizing up it still fits well, just a little less aero.
Great comfort, especially love the cuffs.

Warmer than advertised
Just finished 2 cold rides; 1 in 7 degrees F with lots of wind and 1 in 35 degrees F sun. Excellent wind coverage in front and while the back could breathe a little more, won't quibble as this is a winter jacket. Water beads upfront so should be good in rain too. Arms a great length, back is as well but front is a little short. Rapha tells me I am a small but they are embarrassingly tiny. I am 6'1" and 160 pounds so always go with a medium (Classic jersey, Race jersey and this jacket). Well constructed and hope to get many rides in the cold MN fall, winter and spring season.

My favorite piece of kit
This jacket is great. If you want to ride through the winter this is what you need. It’s Wind-proof and breathing. It works well over another jersey. I got one size up from my core jersey and this allows me to wear this jacket with both the long and short sleeve jersey underneath. But the neck opens wider so I have to wear a buff.
If you want you can get your correct size and it still fits slightly looser than a jersey.
I also wear it with a t-shirt around town.

Is this considered a jacket for cold conditions ? Can it be used for cold with some soft rain ?
This jacket is a good option for the cold with some light rain as it is water resistant.

Looking for like a soft shell jacket almost like a thin neopreme type, difficult to determine from the material description, is this one or more like a thicker layered material one
This jacket is a bit thicker than many of our jackets. However, it is not a neoprene type material. This is not a material that we use.

I ride down to -10C. Looking to bulk up my winter outfit. Can this be worn with a long sleeve base layer and a classic jersey? I'm 6'3 with a 40" chest. I typically wear M in your jerseys. What size would you recommend?
The Core Winter Jacket should be good for -5C-10C degrees over just a jersey and base layer. because fit is dependent mostly on each body shape and customer's personal preference to how customer's prefer garments to fit, it is hard for us to be exact in sizing advice.
If you are unsure we have a free 30 day return policy so you can order multiple sizes and then return the one that doesn't fit as good.

Your core winter jacket names are dark navy/white and black/white. I can't see white in your stock photos or on your model. Is this a mistake?

The band on the arm consists of tiny white reflective dots. This is the portion of the jacket that is considered white.

I have jersey size L (pro team). Do I take an L for this jacket also?
This jacket has a more relaxed fit than the Pro Team line.
If you would like the same fit as your Pro Team Jersey we recommend sizing down to a size M.
If you are okay with a more relaxed fit we recommend a size L.
