Norway Raid

22nd - 27th July 2018

A rugged, mysterious, magical country.

The vast, rugged landscapes of Norway, with their brooding forests, forbidding mountains and deep sea fjords offer magical cycling experiences. With thousands of miles of coastline and amazing, deserted roads – as well as more than a few gravel tracks! – Norway has so much to offer the road cyclist willing to explore a little off the beaten path. Climb with us up through the clouds, descend to serene lakes and join us in convivial rustic guesthouses in this mysterious, magical country. Expect a challenging parcours that will make the post-ride relaxation that much sweeter.

Who is it for?

Reconnect with your love for the bike and exploration. Raids are designed for independent riders with a thirst for going off the beaten track, and exploring lesser-known but nonetheless spectacular destinations and roads. You’ll still have access to a Rapha guide, full mechanical and logistical support, but the emphasis is on self-sufficiency, creating an adventure through wild and unspoilt landscapes. Each night we’ll greet you with hearty food and charming, rustic accommodation, to prepare you for another day’s exploring. It is cycling taken back to the essentials: a bike, a fantastic route to ride, and the self-imposed challenges that brings.

How Hard is it?

Because of the emphasis on challenging terrain and self-sufficiency, Raids suit the more confident, athletic rider, or groups of friends who may already have done a multi-day trip and want to challenge themselves further.

*Please note that all routes are subject to change depending on local conditions.

Customer Testimonials

Hotels were all fantastic, great variety of places, all of which were comfortable.

— Raid Utah, 2016

Can I make a group booking?

Yes – family members, colleagues or friends usually find that embarking on a group adventure makes it even more fun and rewarding. However, trip places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Raids provide a true opportunity to ride together and build a camaraderie richly rewarded.

Can I rent a bike?

We have a fleet of top-specification hire bikes available for rent on our European departures. They cost £50 per day. We ask that guests requiring a bike tell us as far as is possible in advance, so we can guarantee the right size is available, and also to send us your fit measurements, so our mechanics can set up the bike for you ready for the start of your trip. If you’re renting a bike you need to remember to bring your helmet, pedals and saddle to your trip start.
