Unique and awesome
I have used this jacket so much that I bought 2 more. It's perfect as an over layer for both cold and wet conditions, for on and off the bike, for fitness and casual rides. I even use it for scooter rides because of the wind blocking and high visibility color. The side zipper pockets are absolutely secure and water-tight for my phone, wallet and keys, the sleeves are generously long and well sealed, and the hood can be rolled away and secured with the built-in strap when not needed. The longer tail means I never have a lower back exposed to cold or wet. This jacket does it all! With Rapha kit I usually wear XL tops, but this fits perfectly in size L.

Rapha - Sweat Box Jacket
I think I read some other review on here about the ventilation on this jacket (or lack of it) but decided to go for it anyway.
The jacket is well cut and has a stylish design compared to other commuter jackets but my god does it make you sweat.
The fabric is barely breathable and for some unknown reason Rapha decided against holes or a zip in the arm pit area?!
The only ventilation spot is on the back but as most commuters I see use backpacks this is useless. If you use panniers then you might be OK. Sorry Rapha but this is not for me and I wish I could return it.

Commute Or Bust
First impressions were great! Saw an ad on the back of a bus so I thought I’d try it out. It’s slightly oversized to fit on top of layers. After a few rides down Market Street in SF I can certainly appreciate the vibrant color (chose pink) for added visibility. Those trolleys and buses are everywhere.
Where the jacket lacks most is breathability, there are vents in the back but it still feels like I’m wearing a trash bag if I ramp it up. Wish there was an inside pocket and pit zips. I’m glad there’s a hood but it only covers about half of my head with a helmet on. I guess it’s a balance between being able to see and coverage. Overall this jacket is a good addition for a great price. I’d rate it 3.5 out of 5.

Looks good, not breathable
I really like the look of this jacket and it is super comfortable. The shell is actually really effective as a waterproof layer as well. While the reflective details on the back are pretty good in darker light, they are not nearly as bright as similar details included by other brands. One thing I will say is that this jacket looks really good off-bike, and I find myself wearing it a lot in that capacity since it is very light. However, while the jacket is indeed thin and light, it is not at all breathable - on that basis I wouldn't recommend if you are riding in warmer weather or are likely to encounter any hills on your route.

Hot Hot Hot
I printed the Return slip about 10 minutes after I took this out of the package. It looks very nice for sure, but the zipper was extremely difficult to zip and felt fragile. More noticeable, as others have mentioned, is that this jacket is an oven. I wore it for only a few minutes in the house and could feel myself starting to sweat. There is zero ventilation here. Honestly pretty striking considering the quality of most Rapha products.
I was so bummed about this. I ordered in spite of the reviews on how hot it is because it looks great and I was hoping it was just a personal preference, but no. It really is a sweat box.
My advice, either wait for Rapha to take the hint and ventilate this jacket or go elsewhere for your commuting needs.

The perfect commute companion
I was waiting to review this article until I could properly test the jacket in the right conditions. Luckily I live in London and we never miss the rain. The jacket is amazingly waterproof, none drop of water come inside. The quality of the material is very high. I choose the pink colour ,and the it is so vivid and bright that they can spot me from the ISS.
The only downside are the two "vents" at the back that if you commute and have a backpack they get closed,limiting the exhaust of hot air, creating the perfect of condition for the creation of new life under your armpits.
Overall is a perfect companion for commuting or small day trip. The pockets are generous in dimensions and easy to access.

Looks great, doesn't wear well.
Let me start by by saying I absolutely adore this jacket aesthetically and functionally. It serves its purpose, steadfastly.
The waterproofing is incredible.
Having owned this jacket for less than a month, I can say that my main gripe is a sort of weird discoloration that's occurred primarily on the shoulders. You know, where you'd wear a back pack. Like a Rapha one. On the shoulders.
The shoulders have whitened, lost the colour in parts, very quickly.

COULD BE A LITTLE MORE BREATHABLE
While I find it to be light-weight, aesthetically pleasing and generally quite good at keeping you dry for your cycling commutes/walking around should you get caught in a shower, I find it really isnt very breathable. I find myself sweating a fair bit when the jacket is zipped up and feel like I am choosing between being wet from the rain or being soaked in sweat. Not sure if I am the only one or simply run at a higher temperature than the average individual, but I wish were more breathable (recognizing of course that it is always the challenge with rain gear when it is meant to provide a barrier against moisture).

It's very difficult to make an accurate recommendation based on your height and weight alone, unfortunately. Please measure your waist and hip circumferences and either refer to our size chart or get back in touch and we'll be happy to recommend the best size for you based on your exact measurements.

Is the jacket ok for the winter period in Denmark. I’m looking for a jacket on my bike ride to work.
This jacket does not have any insulation and is not recommended as a winter jacket.
