Summer Soltice In Rain City

For three years members of the Rapha Cycling Club's Manchester chapter have been celebrating the summer solstice with their 'Longest Day ride': a 200km foray into the Peak District packing in just under 3,000m of elevation.

"Rolling through the city centre as the revellers are heading home does something weird to your body – everybody else is asleep and you know you should be, too” says chapter coordinator Joe Cox.
Starting at the Manchester Clubhouse at 03:00am for a 03:30am roll-out, the group headed east towards Snakes Pass to catch the sunrise, then looped back to the clubhouse via the scenic village of Bakewell.
