• Exploring new landscapes with riders who share your love of the sport - this is what it feels like to Escape. Small-scale, intimate getaways to some of the world’s best cycling destinations and attended by RCC members, our Escapes involve meticulously planned routes and itineraries, but leave the rest up to the rider. Are you ready to make your Escape?

OVERVIEW

• Located along the Straits of Malacca, Penang boasts riding routes that’ll take you through an ever-changing landscape of incredible nature, iconic cultural sites and historic architecture.
• Starting just outside the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Georgetown, our meticulously planned routes will take you to some incredible sights, both natural and man-made. Covering a total of 225 km and 2400 m of elevation, expect demanding climbs with rewarding descents, endless roads surrounded by plantations and Malaysia's answer to Alpe d'Huez!
• Based out of the stylish Jazz Hotel, members will have the chance to relax in between rides. So whether it's the Peranakan houses and Chinese temples that dot the island of Penang, or the formidable Gunung Jerai that awaits you on the mainland, each ride will introduce you to the cultural and eco-diversity that Penang has to offer.

THE RULES

• Escape Penang is a riding getaway to be completed by a group of self-sufficient yet supportive cyclists. To ensure you’re ready for the ride, be sure to bring along two spare tubes, a multi-tool, a pump, a patch kit and a masterlink. We also highly recommend bringing a spare kit and plenty of ride food.
