Description
Based on the Classic Winter Tights, but now featuring a chamois pad and updated construction, this new pair of padded winter tights is designed to provide all-day comfort on those long winter rides. The tights use a high-stretch Thermoroubaix fabric to guard against the cold, while an extended rear panel that covers the kidneys and lower back offers added warmth. The fit of the tights has been completely overhauled, moving all seams away from the front of the knees to increase comfort. The single join behind the knee also allows for bigger fabric panels, improving elasticity and enhancing the fit of the tights further. A reflective rear leg panel in a contrasting colour keeps you visible in low light, as do large reflective Rapha logos on the outside of each thigh.

My favorite winter tights
These are expensive but worth it. I may need to get another pair next winter so I don't have to wash so often. I tried some other brands, but they either didn't fit comfortably or the chamois was strange and bunched up. Not so with these - I felt every bit as comfortable as some of my favorite bib shorts.
They are quite warm. I haven't worn them below freezing yet, but in the 30's and 40's (0 to 8 or 9 C) they were amazing. I do find that above high 40's (> 8 deg C) they can be too warm unless you are doing an easier ride and don't generate too much heat.

Happy with my first Rapha tights
I've had a few rides in these with temperatures just below 0°C to around 8°C and they felt fine. The waist is high compared to bib shorts, so a bit slower to get them on and off but it also keeps me warmer. In fact, everything apart from the white mesh has a brushed inside surface for warmth. There are no zips at the ankles... the legs are a close fit all the way down, ending in a neat cuff that encourages a "socks outside" approach. The back of each calf has a fabric reflective panel (also brushed inside). The outer seat fabric is different to the rest... it makes a little noise as it brushes against things and I hope this means it will be more hard wearing. The pad is fine.

Excellent best for low-light and safety
Excellent, probably the best tights Rapha makes. Not sure why Rapha minimizes the best aspect-large high vis calf panels. Ones side is white,the other is a large reflective panel. Runs the entire rear of calf. It's brilliant for winter. Lots of movement and highly visible, it's perfect for all the low light situations I run into during these months.
I chose these over the Pro Team tights for this reason alone. The quality and features are equal to Pro Team however, you may have to size down compared to PT if you want to maintain race fit.
All other aspects are top notch Rapha.

Spectacular
Without the doubt, best winter tights ever. I injured my knee, and because of that, any winter tights that are too restricting irritates it. These are so stretchy and comfortable, that it causes zero irritation.
Though, it is not wind proof like the PT winter tights, I would take comfort over that any day.
Used in 1 degree celcius in Vancouver, was fairly warm during ride.

Money well spent
Bulk at the price, but once used on that cold winters day, the price is forgotten, same Rapha quality as the other classic products, pad is very good and appears to be the same used with the classic bib shorts, comfortable and durable.
These tights will last many seasons due to the quality and the fact they are overly warm for wear above 8 degrees, which limits tight usage, this is a good thing, the the clue is in the title, winter.
Having spent on these I could not resist purchasing the rapha winter jersey, I purchased a second one immediately, medium size for closer fit and large for rides where I feel more more base layers are required, the medium fits well for 6 foot person with 40 inch chest, large would work well for 42-44 chest, concluding: excellent winter wear from rapha, thank you for that.

Tight straps
Great tights that are very comfortable to wear with a soft material on the inside of the tights. The only drawback is that with size S, the straps of the tights are a bit short and they press a little on my shoulders on longer rides. For reference I am 1.78 meters and weigh 65 kilograms. I wish there was a size S version of the pants that was a bit longer in the upper body.

Tricky fit - but good warmth (and horrible deliver
The bibs are comfortable and warm - which is great. One drawback is that the straps are so high that pulling them down to use the bathroom is tricky. Would also be great if they came in a variety of lengths. Finally, Rapha should use/pay for a better delivery service. Orders seem to take almost three weeks to arrive on the West Coast - which is ridiculous. And one of our orders was lost along the way. For a $300+ item - that's not good.

Hi I am 6feet 2 inches tall with a 33 inch waist. Will medium be long enough in the leg? I usually take a 33 inch length in trousers
These are not meant to be as long as trousers as your ankle will likely be covered by socks and shoe covers.
They have a 74.5cm inside leg in a size M and 76.5cm inside leg in a size L.
We would recommend the size M for you as it matches up best with your waist measurement.

Hi I am a bit confused with these tights. I need a pair which are endurance designed with the most comfortable Pad. Which pair give me the best option? Weather is also a concern as they are for riding in Scotland.
We would recommend the Pro Team Winter Tights or the Cargo Winter Tights as they both have a very comfortable chamois made for long distance riding and they are treated with DWR which makes them water resistant and helps keep wind out.

I want to buy these for my partner. He is 165 lbs and 5'8". He wears a medium in Rapha jerseys. If able, could you tell me which size would provide the best fit - small or medium?
Hello, with the information that you have provided I would guess a size medium in these tights would be a good fit. In order to get the best idea for sizes the size guide uses the chest, waist and hips measurements and they are the idea way of selecting size.

Do these bibs have some extra water repellant materials at cuffs /ankels to mitigate any water spray. Some bibs have neoprene parts these, and it doesnt seem like there is any...
These bibs do not have water repellant applied to them.

Hi, Which tights are warmer core or classic?
The Classic Tights are the tiniest bit warmer because the outer layer is a tiny bit thicker, but they are about the same as the Core Tights.

What's the approximate temperature range for these tights? I understand they're "winter" grade, but that can mean many things, depending where you are. Thanks!
This can also depend on personal preference or effort of the ride. I would recommend them for 2-12 degrees celsius.

Hello, I was wondering if these would be alright to commute in the rain for about 14 minutes? I'm up in the Pacific Northwest and the rainy season is about to start.
These tights are not water resistant or waterproof.

Canadian here riding in -5C to -15C. What is your warmest pant and which ones have a wind stop front? I find below -10C I generally need some sort of wind stop front Ali g with thermal properties.
