Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sizing Material is great and keeps warm in cold rides. However, sizing is off and runs large. I'm a medium for all my Rapha jerseys and bibs but this medium is loose on the arms and waist.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Designed for orangutans Purchased Brevet long sleeve top for early Autumn following an earlier purchase of the short sleeve version. Weird cut with sleeves designed for orangutan. They are just way too long and the cuffs gape when folded back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it but…. I love this but wonder at the likely longevity. The Plastic/Merino proportions work well, keeping me cosy yet well ventilated and I expect to get good longevity from this part of the jersey, though my personal preference would be for a 40/60 or better still a 30/70 mix in favour of the Merino as, in my experience, Merino does a better job of wicking and keeping me warm when sweaty or wet than any plastic varieties. The design style snd fit are pretty much perfect as you’d expect from Rapha so where’s the concern? The zip. Ok, no zip is perfect, we know that, but the operation should at least be sure and confident out of the box. It isn’t. From the outset it feels hard to engage and start and flimsy. Other than that this feels wonderful to wear and performs perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for chilly rides I ordered this jersey for shoulder season gravel rides. With a single base layer in feet comfortable with temps in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s. Add a vest for morning chill and it’s perfect to ride all day in the mid 40’s. I love the extra storage pockets to stash gels and the vest as it warms up. The material is super comfortable. The cut is perfect for my body type. I’m 5’11 and 165 pounds. The sleeves are a perfect length to keep the gap between gloves closed up. The drawstring waist help keep cold drafts at bay. This only thing I’d wish is for the material to be a bit more wind proof on the front panels, but at that point I probably should be breaking out the core winter jersey.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile Long-Sleeve Jersey I've had other 'sportwool' blends which use a different proportion of merino, polyester, and lycra in some cases, which give the jersey more of a aero-performance look. The Brevet LSJ is more traditional, with a more relaxed fit, but still with a useful amount of stretch. Use the Rapha charts and a tape-measure and you shouldn't have any sizing-surprises. I'm 1.91m at 96kg and XL is fine, with a little more room than the Rapha Core Winter Jacket, and its less flexible laminate panels. Storage space is superb with the zipped cargo pocket proving useful for extra layers or moving larder duties. March has been a little cold to make it the first choice jersey. Worn over a Lifa LS base I've found it comfortable between 6 - 12 C. Add a gilet to reduce torso windchill if you need to increase its range at the cold end. Temperature regulation is superb and I've avoided heavy sweating or clamminess on the warmer days. Minor quibbles : the cuffs are a very loose fit, to the extent that they flap at speeds over 25 mph. If you're wearing gauntlet gloves it's not a problem - just tuck the sleeves in. Bare-handed or with track mitts a little more elastication or a ribbed-knit cuff would be useful. The zip strikes me as being very light-gauge - the puller is difficult to find/hold when wearing thicker gloves - and I think a heavier zip, such as the one on the Winter Core Jacket, would have been a better choice for a jersey of this type. I can't speak for its long-term performance, or how it stands up to multiple washes, but I was sufficiently impressed to buy a second one, in blue-grey.

I usually wear a Pro Team in size S, shall I consider going a size down in XS for this Brevet jersey?

If you would like this to fit the same as a Pro Team Jersey we would recommend sizing down, however, the Brevet line is meant to fit just a bit more relaxed. If you prefer the jersey to fit as intended we recommend purchasing the same size in this jersey as you wear in our Pro Team line.

just purchased this and noticed that it says 'do not wring' when drying and tumble dry obviously, and do not leave wet.. how is one supposed to dry this without wringing out the excess water after washing?

Thank you for your question. We can see this is confusing, and we will check in on the care label to possibly amend it and make it more clear for future seasons. We recommend drying your Brevet Jersey on a drying rack and make sure theres no creasing, without wringing the water out.
