The Rapha Prestige tasks small amateur teams with an unsupported and unmarshalled adventure across stunning terrain. Unsupported and unmarshalled, the rules are simple: start and finish as a team, and pass through all the checkpoints.
Prepare for approximately 120 kilometres of off-road riding and expect to be on the bike for up to 7 hours. We seek out the roads less travelled, aiming to be quite remote at times. With around 2500 metres of elevation, the route will take a variety of roads and tracks from smooth asphalt to really tough sections where walking may be required. A dedicated gravel bike is a must. There will be checkpoint locations and a supplied route, which will be revealed only to confirmed participants 48 hours before the ride.
The Gravel Prestige Daecheong is a completely unsupported ride to be completed by teams of four. You are responsible for navigation and all riders are expected to be self-sufficient. Given the nature of the course, gravel or cross bikes are recommended and minimum kit should include two spare inner tubes, a multi-tool, a pump, a patch kit, and a masterlink. We highly recommend spare kit and nutrition. A paper cue sheet will be supplied as well as a .gpx file.
