Rated 5 out of 5 by 68GT from Warmer than you'd expect I've been using the Rapha Pro Team winter socks on all my rides so far this year under 60F(15C) and as low as 40F (5C) and they have been fantastic. On the days that are toward the lower end of that scale, I'll add a pair of lycra shoe covers and my feet stay toasty warm. They are much thicker than the Pro Team socks, so it makes for a tighter shoe fit, but I haven't found it to be a problem. One thing to note, which is neither good nor bad, but the yellow on these socks, while bright, is not quite as bright as a true hi-vis yellow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by davebellous from Warm and comfortable I live in Northern Canada, and rode in -32C conditions last week. Having socks that keep my toes warm, that fit well is important. These socks are thick enough to keep warmth in, but fit well enough that I can move my toes around to keep warm. These fit exactly like the summer socks, with a thicker fabric.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fausto46 from "Go to" cold weather socks Fantastic product. Purchased these around a month ago and used them on three successive wet weekend long rides in temperatures ranging from 2-10 degrees. They are warm without the bulk of the Rapha winter socks that I purchased last year. They also wash better as the winter socks had some shrinkage - even on the coolest wash. The pro-race socks are like new after washing. Feel luxurious too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by TomH44 from Great pair of Socks. Very nice pair of socks with a decent warmth to them. I have really narrow feet and struggle to find socks for use in Spring / Summer / Early Autumn as most socks e.g. Pro Team socks are too thin and my feet move around in my cycling shoes a little which I find off-putting. As soon as the Pro Team Winter socks landed online I knew I had to try a pair. I have been using them on most rides for the past 2 weeks and they have performed very well in temp ranges of 20c down to 12c. I got the grey pair with the yellow detailing and they look and fit great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Weldin87 from So comfortable Fantastic socks and will be buying several more pairs. I bought the high vis pink and have had lots of comments on how cool they look. They are incredibly comfortable and seem to be good quality. Although they are winter socks I don't think they are overly warm so you may need some thicker ones once the temperature drops below about 10 degrees.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JNauss from Thin yet warm socks I bought three pairs of these socks a month ago, and have been enjoying them ever since. I would rate them as comfortable down to about 40-50 degrees F, and with overstocks or booties down to 30 or so. I especially appreciate the fact that they are thinner then, say, the winter socks so they fit in my shoes more comfortably. I would rate them as an excellent product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by kg_caad from Warmth, performance, and great looks The Pro Team Winter Socks have slotted nicely into a gap in my sock collection. I found the proper Winter Socks too bulky (although very warm) and the Brevet Socks not warm enough. I think I'll be using these most of the time from October through to March/April, unless it is proper freezing or abnormally warm. Good thing I bought 3 pairs! Nice colours too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by acw15110 from Great insulator during the cold days Great socks, warm, comfortable and the yellow is quite bright. However, this does not replace the shoecovers, they certainly help in keeping the warmth, but won't do that good of a job keeping the chill out. Good for temperature between 9-14 degree Celsius, anything below 9, you should wear a shoecover along with these.

I already own the winter sock, which with the merino is a lovely piece of kit. Other than that, is there much difference in warmth between these and the thinner non-merino Pro Team winter sock?
The Pro Team Winter sock is much warmer than the Standard Pro Team Sock as this is designed to remove heat from the feet and keep you cool, while the Winter Sock uses Merino to retain as much heat as possible.

How thick is this sock compared to the regular Merino sock? I am using the brevet and Merino socks most of the "main part" of season and would desire something a bit thicker/warmer for spring and fall.
This sock is considerably thicker than our Merino Socks and is suitable for riding in temperatures around freezing.
