Super comfortable
Super comfortable, the size is a bit larger than compared to another base layer, so I recommend that a smaller size is considered at least.

Fragile but functional
This is a well-designed undergarment to wick swear and repel odor, but be careful taking it off after a sweaty workout. It is very easy to tear it as the fabric is very fine and the shirt is meant to fit snugly. Mine is already full of holes. For an expensive piece of kit, be forewarned.

Not for me
I have a couple of the really old version of this and love it. For me, as others have commented, this feels too flimsy and feels as though it will snag and wear quickly. I didn't keep it so can't comment on whether this is actually the case. For summer riding I'll stick to the PT base layer which is brilliant.

Keeps cool in heat and warm in cold
The best base layer I’ve ever used.
It’s simple enough to say it helps keep you warm but it’s talents really showed last year when I climbed Alp D’Huez in 38 degree heat. With my jersey unzipped the slight breeze helped make this base layer feel like an ice pack. Since that day i’ve brought 3 more

Great for hot rides
I bought this after having a similar product as I thought the sleeveless design would help, as some jerseys aren't as long as the sleeved version. It great and does everything the sleeved version does. It dos nip under the arms either

Really good piece of kit
Follow up to a prior purchase of the same in white. Both are indispensable. Keep me warm when needed, or wick away moisture even on the hottest days. Don't like riding without them, or their long sleeved equivalents

Ripped after the first wear
Comfy but not well build and I emailed, wrote a review and still no word from Rapha. I am bummed as I have really liked all the other stuff I have purchased but can’t stand compare ones that don’t respond

Nice under layer
Nice quality. Works well at keeping warm on spring rides. Wife says it makes me look stupid. Guess I should stop wearing round house after a ride...

Very Good Base Layer that Might Tear
This is a very good base layer for long rides that range in temperature from 58-80 degrees. I have happily worn it under my summer jersey with either arm warmers or a gortex shake dry rain jacket. I was warm during the cold portion of the ride and comfortable in the warmer parts after i tucked my arm warmers or jacket into the back pocket of my jersey. My only concern is that it is difficult to remove without tearing a hole in the mesh as you grip it near your neck/upper back to pull it over your head. I put a hole in my first one after two rides. I have been successful in not doing the same with this purchase by rolling/bunching it up from the waist to have enough material to grab before pulling it over my head. After this item wears out, i might try a bigger size, although i really like the tight fit of my current size

KEEPS YOU COOL EVEN IN TROPICAL HEAT!
I was skeptical purchasing a black base layer since I ride mostly in the tropics but this kept me cool as well as the light coloured ones. I like the the texture of the merino mesh compared to the regular merino layer and I think it works even better at wicking the moisture away from your body. One important note is that I find that this does not stretch as much compared to regular merino base layer. Great product overall.

Best base layer ever
I buy a lot of wool garment, especially for skiing. Thin ones that are perfect for layering. This base layer is awesome and will also follow with me to the ski slopes!
It gives that skin tight layer needed to feel dry and comfortable. No matter warm summer days or colder spring days, I use mine.
Just decided to put in an order for two more that will replace my older syntetic ones.

I love this!
This has been one of the greatest additions I have made to my kit. Before I purchased this, I didn't ride with any base layers. After trying this, I wouldn't have it any other way. I had to buy a few more. Perfect to add as another layer, but the mesh is incredibly breathable and wicks sweat away perfectly. Very high quality. You don't even know you're wearing it.

A strong performer
This comes out of the bag as a very thin frail-looking thing. Have had it out on several chilly rides and it has suffered some mistreatment at the hands of the we’ll-meaning in the wash yet it has been a champ performant over everything. Wear it with tights and under a Rapha long sleeve winter jersey in 40 deg chilly weather and no complaints on comfort or durability.

Initial view is it's a quality base layer
- Tight fitting (which is what I wanted) - I'm 5' 11", slim but with broad shoulders and I bought it in medium as per my other Rapha clothes like the Classic Jersey's
- Material is soft and comfortable to wear and has washed fine the first two times I've won it (i.e. it hasn't shrunk, etc)
- Hopefully it will be hard wearing as it is very light weight

Material Quality
Have a few of these and always wear them. Love the fit and the feel. However, fairly disappointed with the most recent purchase. After only a few wears, I tore a small hole on the bottom when taking it off after a ride. Never had that problem before with any of the others ones and didn't do anything out of the ordinary.

Great base layer
Used all summer for hot and cooler days works perfectly under either a normal brevet jersey or a flyweight for hotter days. I am a big fan of the normal merino base layer and feared this would not match up but I would suggest it is even better for wicking away sweat. Great quality and great performance.

Mesh is Misleading
Sure, this is technically a mesh sleeveless base layer. However, it feels more substantial than that would suggest and is really perfect for really warms days, of which we've already had a few this year. I'll buy another for the days when the regular merino base layers are too much.

Merino Rulz!
What can I say, it’s a base layer. I think the best thing that can be said of base layers is that the good ones disappear when worn. The Rapha sleeveless merino mesh base layer does exactly that during these chilly months. I hope I can say the same in warmer weather.

Excellent base layer the benefits of Merino
This is my favorite base layer by far. The weight is excellent and the fabric feels great. Love the other merino base layers for cooler temps but they're a little too thick for moderate to warmer rides. The merino mesh is perfect especially under the Pro Team jerseys.

Good but vulnerable
The material is very comfortable to wear and passes the moisture optimally on to the jersey. However, the material is not very durable. In the case of intensive stress in the field of mountain biking, material damage can occur in the combination of a chest strap.

A revelation
Bought three as a bundle and 3 of the weight above and will never cycle without one. No more sweat rash issues or feeling a bit cold on the descent. Add so much to traditional tops and means you do not need to put a gillet on

Game changer
These things are a game changer for me, I don’t like hot weather for some reason my body just doesn’t. These base layers are an absolute game changer for me. I will “not” summer ride without this. I’ll go home if I forget it

Wool is king…or queen?
This is a beautiful base layer. Wool is the perfect material for a base layer because of how well it doesn’t hold odors. I haven’t used it in warm weather yet so we’ll see how that goes. The fit is nice and snug. Top notch.

Best Rapha base layers to date.
By far the best base layer yet. As comfortable as the traditional base layers, with a slightly trimer fit and less weight, but more flexible & comfortable than the first mesh layers that felt too synthetic and constricting.

Nice piece of kit, handle with care
Good fit, well made. The fabric is light enough to be worn even on hot days. Care should be taken when removing the top if you’ve worked up a sweat. I’d also recommend using a wash bag if putting it in a washing machine.

Best Base Layer
This has become my favorite piece of kit and best base layer I’ve ever used. Unlike fully synthetic base layers the 60% merino wool wicks extremely well, doesn’t retain oder, and is very comfortable. Great product.

Lovely
I use this and pro team base layer constantly... love the feel. Fits tight on me but I don't feel it at all while riding. Only downside is when taking it of. A bit scared of ripping it apart...

Excellent Product
Does what a base layer is suppose to do, kept my core warm but not overheated. I normally wear a medium for most jerseys. Size is as expected.- 5'8", 160 lbs. Too bad they ran out of white.

Effective, comfortable and wicking
Like this layer very much indeed. Don't get after-ride chills in it - even after a hard ride in cool conditions. Love the combo of this with my l/s brevet jersey. Favourite combo ever!
