Nice and warm.
I bought this as I have the previous version and loved that one to pieces (literally).
It's ideal in every temperature and packs away really small.
My only gripe that takes away a star is that the hood is not removable and mine seems to sit one sided and rubs against the right hand side of my head and neck.

Great jacket, great experience.
As a leisure jacket it’s great, light and very stylish. I wear it to work and around town at the weekends and it’s exactly what I wanted. I also wore it on “the terraces” a few weeks ago during the really cold spell but regretted it. It’s warm to a point but in colder weather it’s really a mid-layer. To be fair it probably says that somewhere in the write up and I’d missed it.
Have to give a shout out to the Customer Services team who I needed to contact after ordering it, they went over and above. Overall very pleased.

Explore Down Jacket - Stellar Closet Addition
I took a chance on this after eyeing it for several weeks. I can't say I needed another down jacket in my closet, but I liked the idea of having the Rapha Explore Down Jacket for quick rides to the coffee shop or for walking around town. The two-way zipper was the biggest selling feature allowing me to dump heat while keeping the jacket zipped at my neck and chest. Currently, I'm between Mediums and Larges in most brands, and I decided to go with the Large so I could layer a sweatshirt under the jacket. That was the right call. Especially, considering the jacket shrank a bit after washing.

Stylish and Practical Down Jacket
The light teal blue colour is very stylish and reasonably neutral. The rip-stop fabric is very thin, so you can slightly see the down through it. That may or may not be a concern for you. I don’t mind it.
This jacket is very comfortable in weather from about -5 to 5 degrees C. Used as a layer you can extend its cold weather performance. The hood is a welcome feature and the tension adjuster at the back works very well.
My only gripe is the jacket sleeve diameter. My hands aren’t that large but I do have some difficulty getting the sleeves over my hands when removing the jacket, resulting in the loss of one point.
The last comment considered, I’d still recommend the purchase of this product.

Great jacket!
Warm and lightweight jacket. Fit is a bit roomier - larger than typical Ralpha for me. Not as big of a deal for a jacket.

This is the one!
This is the one! - I'm a all year around cyclist, daily commuting, almost northern parts of Sweden. The Explore Down jacket only need a single base layer & and I'm good to go! Even really cold days, -15 C° degrees.
What to complain about?
The zipper, or the handling of the zipper. Perhaps I'm down to the nitty gritty, but the zipper isn't super smooth.
Size?
I bought a Medium, I'm totally M in all other Rapha gear, but this jacket is almost too big over the lower parts. As long as I'm cycling, and use a backpack there no issue, but when just walking the streets, I feel that a tad slimmer fit over the torso, belly could work.
But, again, this is such a super light, mega comfy and slick down jacket, it will follow me whereever I go from now on, great job Rapha!

Based on your height and weight alone we recommend a size L.
We do, however, recommend referencing our size guide with your waist and chest measurements for a better idea of the right size for you.

What is the difference in arm length between the different sizes? I don't see that in the sizing chart
The arm length is 71cm in a size M. This measurement goes up or down by 1cm between sizes.

What temperatures is this suited to?
This jacket is not temperature rated as it depends on personal preference, the layer(s) you wear underneath as well as what you are using the jacket for (i.e. commuting on your bike, walking, hiking). I personally find our down jackets to be light enough for a cool day, but also warm enough to wear outside at 0 degrees C.
