Does what it says on the tin
Excellent jacket, with a cut good enough for riding (not skintight of course, but fine for gravel/relaxed road/commuting), and great as a multipurpose rain jacket for hiking, posing by the pavé, hanging at the hellingen, and of course waiting outside in the rain at the pop up barista-mobile at your local tracklocross happening. Totally rainproof, breathable, and in the red colour allows you to merge into Victorian brick facades with panache etc., Recommended.

THIS jacket has been in my expectation and finally Rapha turns it into reality. The color is perfect, as well the size. No any complain so far as I've not tested under heavy weather conditions yet , but at the first glance seems to be very well designed in the details. My only complains is the sleeve closure that could be weakness in strong rainy / windy conditions. It's a Must in my collection !

Construction is very good. I went up one size on fit to allow for layering in colder weather and that has been a good choice without the jacket feeling too big or loose. Haven't yet had the pleasure of riding in a downpour, but happy with the performance thus far during slushy, muddy winter riding. Looks great with some dirt on it. Not really packable, so you're not going to stuff this in a jersey pocket if you get too warm.

Lovely fabric
Like a duck's back - the pockets are nice and high so out of th eway of the pedal stroke. Only comlaint is that I have to fiddle with the zip to get it started.

Hello there, I understand this is very subjective, but what is the temperature range if worn with a long sleeve base layer and/or a deep winter layer? Also, will the Orange version be available soon (as per the pictures)? Many thanks
We recommend this jacket in -5 degrees C to 8 degrees C.
The orange jacket from the photos is from a previous season and it will not be available. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Can you please confirm the waterproofing and breathability figures for the jacket as well as its RET rating?
This jacket is made using a 3L performance GORE-TEX material with a minimum water entry pressure rating of 28 metres. It must also withstand a 500 hour continuous wash to ensure its durability and longevity and comes with the Black Diamond guarantee from GORE-TEX. The material is extremely breathable and falls into the <6 RET rating.
The material is also treated with a durable water repellency on the textile surface and this can be reactivated using a tumble dry cycle and re proofed once the jacket no longer beads water even after a tumble dry cycle.

This is a relaxed fitting jacket.
We recommend a size M for a slimmer fit and a size L for a more relaxed fit.

The Explore Gore-Tex Jacket is made for a Performance 3L.
The product is durably waterproof, must reach a minimum water entry pressure of greater than 28 metres, as new and after a minimum of 500 hours of continuous wash. It holds the Black Diamond standard ‘Guaranteed to Keep you Dry’
The material is Ret <6 which is the extremely breathable range.
