High-performance winter tights

Deep into the coldest season, these tights will keep you warm but stop you overheating thanks to a dual-fabric construction inspired by the Pro Team Jacket.

The wind-blocking DWR (durable water repellent) fabric on the front panels gives necessary protection from the elements while the breathable fabric on the rear allows sweat to be released from the back of the tights. A nifty innovation to stop you sweating in traditionally thick winter wear.

The chamois is in the same position as in the Pro Team Bib Shorts, staying stable and comfortable during even high-intensity efforts in the drops. The bib straps are constructed from a lightweight mesh, and the tights' waist is raised to offer insulation across the torso, keeping the lower back warm. Finished with bright details for visibility in low light.

Reviews:

‟Heading out on a couple of early morning rides with a temperature of about 2°C, my legs were toasty warm. And thanks to the breathable fabric at the back of the legs, I never experienced any overheating, even as the temperature moved up into double figures after a five-hour ride. For riding in really bad weather these tights are about the best I've ever tested.”
‟Fit is an area Rapha generally do extremely well, and these are extremely comfortable bib tights. The DWR treated material does not have a great deal of stretch, but thanks to the smart cut of the various panels there is no restriction on your freedom of movement when pedalling. The fit is good around the hips, bum and crotch area too, and the flat wide bib straps exert no undue pressure on your shoulders.”

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! I'm so happy with the purchase. Wasn't sure on paying so much but now I can see why, fabric is like magic keeping out the cold and keeping the warmth in whilst being thin and light! Amazing work on the stitching too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even in Southern California! After researching many other brands for some bib tights to replace some that I had that were 20 years old, settled on the Pro Team Thermals. I live in Southern California so we have a very temperate climate here. I ride 2-3 times a week at night where the temperatures are in the 40's to 60's. I have worn these on several rides now and the are perfect. Even on high tempo night rides at 20+ average speed I have never felt too warm. Night riding is unique as the temperatures are cold and get colder, never warmer. I do not have any experience with these tights in the daytime as far as their temperature range comfort. Fit is spot on with the other Rapha products. 6'3 and 210 lbs and purchased a XL. Would be real nice to have more reflective elements though. Highly recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit and great keeps me warm I normally struggle with the cold, especially hands and feet. These tights keep me warm and comfortable in sub zero multiple hours rides through snow and icy wind in Denmark. Other winter tights leave my legs red from the cold but not these and the fit is next level. Make sure you get the correct size, try 3 different sizes to be sure unless you know your Rapha size...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Quality I've used the winter tights twice now and can say they are top performers, which is what I'd expect from Rapah. I'd say the next upgrade should include zips, but that's a personal preference.

I asked a question previously about the windproofing of these tights but don't think kit was understood what I meant - is the fabric windproof, or is the windproofing applied through the DWR treatment?

Asked by: Hunty95
The fabric on the panels is Windproof and the DWR treatment compliments this by allowing the water to roll off the garment.

I have a paid of the most recent core bib shorts in xs - how does the pad and size compare in these? I have a 32" inside leg, wondered if xs would still be suitable? Also, is thr pad the same?

Asked by: Hunty95
The XS would be a suitable size for you based on your previous purchases. The Pro Team Pad is a plusher, thicker pad than the Core Team version
