Race ready insulation for the coldest competition

Riders and racers looking for warmth in cold conditions often have to compromise on speed by wearing a bulky, protective jacket. Not so with the all new Pro Team Insulated Jacket, a close-fitting, cold weather outer layer, which uses Polartec’s extraordinary Alpha insulation, for class-leading warmth without the volume of down. It is highly breathable, ensuring you don’t overheat during harder efforts, and fast-drying and hydrophobic, meaning the jacket won’t hold moisture like natural down insulation. A DWR-coated, windproof front keeps your chest warm, while the stretch fabric on the back ensures a great fit, as well as letting body heat out. The jacket has three pockets on the back for storing valuables, and the double-ended Vislon zip provides easy access to your jersey pockets or to help you regulate body temperature. Whether you’re training hard or warming-up pre-race, this is a game-changing new product.

FEATURES

  • DWR coating keeps the worst weather out
  • Stretch fabric on back ensures a great fit and lets body heat out

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Cold Weather Rides I bought this for a race series in February. Race Day conditions started in high 20s (F) w/ 15 MPH wind gusts and ended in the mid 30s. I coupled the jacket with a synthetic base layer and a lightweight short sleeved cycling jersey and was comfortable all day. I'm 6'2" 170 lbs and the XXL fit me perfectly

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Insulated jacket Just got this one and have not really had the chance to put it to the test! put the Vest is really nice, so i don't think the jacket will let me down I went up one size on this one after reading other reviews and the vest fit tighter then other pro team products, but i wear that one under a classic winter jacket and that is no problem

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and really warm. My first use of this jacket was on a 3 hour group ride (28-34°F) and was warm the entire time. Didn’t experience any overheating like thicker jackets. A winter merino base layer under this jacket is all you need. Love this jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective Vs. REAL Cold - NOT Florida Cold. I live in Orlando, FL, and I bought this jacket for those few and fleeting weeks of the year when we hit the 30s and 40s (Fahrenheit, mind you). I wore only this jacket and a base layer on a solo morning ride which started off at around 45F. By mile 10, I was sweating to the oldies!! This thing insulates and retains heat but also breathes alarmingly well. Only thing is I should have worn a jersey under this jacket to take it off later on because two hours into the ride, when typical Florida increased the temps to around 65F, I was almost suffocating. I have a size small and this thing runs small and tight, and the sleeves are short, but I found the short sleeves surprisingly helpful for ventilation when the temperature increased. All this to say this is FANTASTIC cold weather jacket. But it needs to be COLD out there. None of this Florida stuff.

How this compares to winter windblock jersey?

Asked by: Thomas 2
This Jacket is a lightweight technical fabric that has a Polartec Alpha® Insulation lining. The Windblock Jersey is a plush Merino Jersey with Windblocking panel on the front aspect. The Pro Team Jacket features a water-resistant DWR that the Winter Windblock Jersey does not

What's the main difference in use and temperature range between this insulated jacket and the core winter jacket? Or do both have the same use and temperature range and is the main difference core <---> pro team style?

Asked by: jola
The Pro Team Insulated Jacket is a slimline, racing fit, while the Core Jacket is a more versatile silhouette. The Core Winter Jacket and Pro Team Insulated Jackets use different types of insulation to provide warmth. The Roubaix fleece backed material of the Core Jacket is heavier than the Alpha Tech insulation used in the Pro Team Jacket.

Care instructions in jacket suggest hand washing, however, the online description permits a gentle machine wash. Please could you clarify as I'm a little concerned ahead of the first wash!?

Asked by: NT74

Hi. As the cold weather is setting in I'm after a jacket/jersey with a primary function of keeping me warm but could withstand the odd shower. I'm not talking heavy rain. Could this be the answer paired with a jersey and base layer. Thanks. A

Asked by: AHW13
Hi, this jacket would most certainly keep you warm, though it is not fully waterproof. From what you mention above we suggest the best to be the Pro Team Softshell Jacket and second option the Pro Team Training Jacket.

How small does the jacket pack down to - can it fit in a rear pocket?

Asked by: AS23
Hi, the folding down on of this jacket will depend on how meticulous you are but you should be able to do a fold and roll, so that it slides into the middle pocket.
