    New Mexico Raid

Cycle through the Land of Enchantment.

    16th  - 23rd September 2018

    New Mexico Raid

New Mexico offers high desert vistas and seemingly unlimited rolling hills and mountains, while the towns we visit on this Raid will surprise with their laid-back vibe. There is a deep Native American heritage here, as well as newer American and Mexican-influenced culture and cuisine – this is spiritual cycling through timeless landscapes that have inspired peoples and artists beyond memory. Ride to over 10,000ft on hard climbs and deserted roads, all supported in signature Rapha style with the highest levels of service.

    Who is it for?

Reconnect with your love for the bike and exploration. Raids are designed for independent riders with a thirst for going off the beaten track, and exploring lesser-known but nonetheless spectacular destinations and roads. You’ll still have access to a Rapha guide, full mechanical and logistical support, but the emphasis is on self-sufficiency, creating an adventure through wild and unspoilt landscapes. Each night we’ll greet you with hearty food and charming, rustic accommodation, to prepare you for another day’s exploring. It is cycling taken back to the essentials: a bike, a fantastic route to ride, and the self-imposed challenges that brings.

    All Raids include

    • Some meals included
    • On-road food

    Double occupancy as standard

    All trips include

    • Expert planning and guide support from guides and vehicles
    • Pre-trip discounts on Rapha apparel
    • Unique routes
    • Top-level mechanics

Flights, bike hire and travel insurance are not included

    How Hard is it?

Because of the emphasis on challenging terrain and self-sufficiency, Raids suit the more confident, athletic rider, or groups of friends who may already have done a multi-day trip and want to challenge themselves further.

*Please note that all routes are subject to change depending on local conditions.

    • Can I make a group booking?

Yes – family members, colleagues or friends usually find that embarking on a group adventure makes it even more fun and rewarding. However, trip places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Raids provide a true opportunity to ride together and build a camaraderie richly rewarded.

    • What kind of assistance can riders expect on the road?

When you’re riding you’ll always have at least one ride guide on the road with the group. Raids are more self-sufficient than a Randonnee, so while a mechanic will be available they won't be tracing the route or offering on-road support during the day. Your guides will be able to help you out with ride food and drink, as well as local knowledge, first aid, a morale-boosting chat and – if necessary – a hand to push you up the hill if you’ve run out of energy.
