Description

Inspired by the Rapha Brevet credo of ‘pack light, travel far’, the multi-functional Brevet Long Sleeve Windblock Jersey fuses the all-day performance of a merino jersey, with the wind-protection of a gilet.

Warm and insulating, an overlaid panel made from the fabric of the Rapha Brevet Gilet has been stitched onto the front of the jersey and the arms, doing away with the need for a windbreaker or a base layer because the panel layers over the jersey fabric. With reflective and hi-vis Brevet stripes on the front and back, and a total of five pockets, this is a versatile piece with ample storage for food and tools. Paired with its ability to be washed and dried overnight, this makes the Brevet Long Sleeve Windblock Jersey the perfect companion for multi-day adventures by bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new fav piece of kit I had a similar jersey from an Italian outfit that was my go-to shoulder season workhorse for years. Mtb, road, CX, you name it. When it wore out I bought their replacement that looks and feels like a black garbage bag glued to a jersey. The Brevet Windblock is more like my old favourite only with better sweat management and just enough room to layer. I rode it on a 8c day on the road (windy here) and then rode it snow biking on a ride that varied from 0 to +6 with just one light layer under. On both rides I was totally comfortable. Sizing-wise I'm 5' 10" and 165lbs and a Large fits me well with just enough room for a layer without feeling like a pork sausage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very versatile jersey This is the perfect jersey to wear in spring and autumn weather when it might still be chilly early-on or a bit breezy. It is very comfortable to wear and the "attached" wind proof panels work very well. The back of the jersey and arm panels are very similar to the standard merino jerseys and allow it to breath and stop you overheating when it gets warm. As it's part of the brevet range the fitting is slightly looser than a race fit and it also has two small pockets in the front of the jersey - helpful for storing extra food or bits and bobs if out for a long ride. Would recommend. I'm 5ft 8" / 69kg and size small is a perfect fit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing Firstly it’s not red as shown on the website but a crimson colour. Not the end of the world and no reason to return it in my case. It’s the poor performance and fit I found disappointing. The sleeves are baggy and the windbreaker material flaps in the wind. I’ve finished most rides with the sleeves still wet with sweat- poor wicking which means it’s cold and uncomfortable. The windbreaker fabric is not great. I’ve got other jerseys that are less expensive and do a better job. The concept is interesting but the execution not great. A shame because all my other Rapha buys are great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect jersey for cooler temps I got this to fill the gap between the summer jersey and the winter jacket, with the pro team base layer or the thermal ones it can do the job very nicely, and thanks to the front windblock panel and the back meshed merino wool I can stay warm and toasty. The jersey equipped with three addition pockets compare to the pro team jersey which is great for longer rider packing but I found the front pocket quite useless due to the belly I got, if I put my phone in the pocket it keep hitting my leg, but I think this is just personal case. But with that been said I found this jersey quite useful.

Quality product & even though I do not have a cyclists frame the fit is perfect. Fitted but not constricted so base layer or Jersey can be worn underneath. The pockets on the jacket offer plenty of space & their design is well thought out. Initially order a large but was too big. Was able to exchange it for a Medium & the returns process was very easy & the customer service provided by Rapha in regards to the exchange/returns process was outstanding. I have no hesitation in recommending this product & the service provided by Rapha. Will certainly not be the last Rapha product that I purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not quite what I needed. I needed a warm, wind proof, visible jersey for winter commutes & weekend rides. I was attracted to the concept of a high wool content jersey with a wind proof membrane. In reality the brevet jersey may be a bit light for my purpose: it is a very high quality garment, made to Rapha’s usual standards, however even with two layers of wool underneath the cold still pierced my torso. The colour is described as red but looks more brown. The rear & side pockets are versatile, the reflective stripes are reassuring, the fit was perfect. I may have been better with a winter wind proof training jersey or a brevet jersey/ gilet combination. This garment will serve me well in milder conditions; I can ride to work & wear it all day if necessary & I’ll continue to use it.

Works well as a single layer sub 4°C After a few very cold rides in January, adding more and more layers but still getting home frozen I decided to get a quality winter jersey. This was my first Rapha purchase and I had quite expectations. This jersey exceed them by quite a way! I went out in 2°C with just this on. No base layer. And it kept me warm. It is incredibly comfortable. The merino lining is soft and feels great as a first layer, and the brevit material on the front of the jersey keeps the wind out. On top of the comfort and cold weather performance I love the colour. So this is the jersey that I reach for on all my rides at the moment. I am 80kg, 182cm and have quite long arms. The large fits me perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A truly versatile and extremely well made garment This was the second Brevet long sleeve windblock jersey I purchased from Rapha, and well before the first is showing any signs of excessive wear. They are even the same colour - a very attractive Dark Olive. Why two? One may well wear out one day (though at 83 probably not before I do!), and I don't relish being without one. They form an integral part of my layering system. On a windy summer day it is comfortable to wear on its own. Come the autumn and its inbuilt 'stretch' allows a Rapha merino base layer and even another warmer long sleeve jersey, without it feeling tight. In the rain, a lightweight waterproof jacket worn as a fourth layer is not in the least restrictive. The Brevet Windblock jersey folds up incredibly small should it not be required whilst riding (and mine are both XXL) thanks to the weight of the Merino wool used, and the fact that the windproof panels are only fitted to the front of the arms and the chest, where they are most needed. With a neat fitting collar, two zipped side pockets and three spacious rear pockets, and reflective stripes across the chest and back, what more could one want. This is my favourite riding top. I like the design of this jacket very much, the problem is: I’m a woman. Do you think the jacket could fit anyways? Or is the shoulder section too wide? I’m 170cm tall and my weight is 64 kilograms.

The women's version of the Brevet Long Sleeve Windblock Jersey exists but not in that colour. It is fairly common to see women ordering men garment in the smaller size than they are used to wear.

What's the reccomend temperature scale for use with this jacket please

Hi. As we all regulate temperature differently, it is difficult to provide a specific temperature range for this item. It is ideal for cool to cold conditions and can provide protection in a wider range of temperatures when paired with a base layer and/or an outer layer.
