Simple, quality bib shorts for everyday riding

Simple, quality bib shorts to complement any ride, the main panels use a dense-knit fabric for support and modesty and laser-cut leg grippers lined with soft silicone for a close, comfortable fit. The bib section uses high-stretch material, machined efficiently for even distribution of stretch and to accommodate longer torsos. Flatlock seams are positioned carefully throughout to hold the shorts in place without chafing. The shorts are available in an entirely black colourway, or with a white bib section to prevent straps showing under a light-coloured jersey.

If you are unsure of which bib shorts to choose, take a look at our new Bib Shorts Guide »

“The Core collection is about optimising innovative fabrics and processes across the entire collection to reduce production hours and wastage. For example, the leg-gripper trim reappears in the jersey back, the material for the zip guard is used again on the sleeve tips, and bindings use rolled edges. This means we can produce Core garments without compromise, leading to a new standard for everyday cycling apparel.”
Alex Valdman, Creative Director

“I told my $500 Assos bibshorts that I had a new favorite and they slammed the door to the Kuku Penthouse in my face. But it’s the truth. The Core bibs are Rapha’s entry-level offering but they surpass that designation in both price and quality.”
9.3/10 - VeloNews

“Rapha's Core bib shorts are an impressive mix of knowhow from premium ranges – giving good quality, comfort and a great fit.”
★★★★½ Ash Quinlan,

“The bibshorts are a particular highlight of the range. Flatlock seams join smartly-shaped panels, meaning chafing isn’t an issue and Rapha sensibly hasn’t compromised at the heart of the shorts – the Core bibs are built around the original Classic chamois that remains as comfortable as ever. As a result the Core bibshorts punch well above their weight at this price point. It is a similar story with the jersey – the polyester it uses feels more organic than synthetic, and has been treated with an antibacterial process so still smells reasonable even after repeated use.”
★★★★½ Sam Challis,

“Rapha's most affordable bib shorts to date don't skimp on quality or comfort.”
Jim Clarkson,

“For weekday training and commuting, Rapha have totally nailed it. Bravo all round.”
Graham Hutson, The Times

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Core Bib Shorts The fabric certainly feels comfortable against the skin, and the flatlocked seams ensure there is no rubbing or chafing. The open back does a good job of releasing excess heat, avoiding sweaty dampness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and feel good whilst wearing I bought these bib shorts for the spring but have wore them already for a particularly warm day. I usually have small for most clothing and I felt these were true to size and fitted perfectly. They feel very comfortable whilst riding and am very happy with them. They have washed well and feel good quality.

What’s the difference between these and the classic bib shorts besides the price.

Asked by: Anonymous
Hi, the only similarity is that the same Rapha chamois pad is used in both the Core and the Classic. The material and design of the bib shorts is different so the fit will also feel slightly different.

Hello Rapha! Give me a sizing advice for core, 176 cm and 77 kg male rider. Thanks

Asked by: Speedbull
A large pair of Bib Shorts should be suitable based on these dimensions. Please do note you can return these to us under our 90-day returns policy should these not meet your specifications.

sorry to ask but i am a 31" waist with short legs what size would you recommend please

Asked by: fireplace
Hi, because fit is not just dependent on height and weight but mostly on each body shape and customer's personal preference to how customer's prefer garments to fit, it is hard for us to be exact in sizing advice. With the sizing you gave us we suggest try a Small because they do have a bit of give in them and this way the legs may be more suitable. Also, should you need to exchange, we have a 90 days return policy for garments returned new/unused and with tags garments.

I have a large core bib, the only problem is the leg grippers are lose, would I be better in a medium. The top is large but while it is good across the shoulders its wide near my stomach, would a medium be better

Asked by: Patto
A medium could be an appropriate fit based upon your explanation. We do offer a 90 day returns service if the garment you choose is not suitable.

Hi! I'm 1.74m, 74cm waist, 82cm inseam, I normally use a "italian fit" brand in S. Which size would you recommend for the Core and Lightweight respectively? Should I go for Long leg version or standard? Thanks!

Asked by: Warpo
A small size could be the appropriate fit. If the garment does not meet with your specification then you can return this to us under our 90 day returns policy.

Halfway between XS and S, my waist is 29” and inseam 31”. Would you recommend sizing up or down? I’m 58kg and 173cm so quite slim.

Asked by: Matt_G
Based on your dimensions, we would recommend the XS Shorts in this range
