Retreats are luxurious breaks where the emphasis is as much on unwinding and enjoying beautiful surroundings as it is on challenging yourself on the the bike.

Typically based at one exclusive hotel, these departures offer the ultimate in relaxation. The length and intensity of each day’s ride is up to you, with the best home-cooked specialities, local wines and culture to enjoy on your return.

You won’t need to do any specific training before a Retreat: you can tailor-make the riding itinerary to suit you, choosing 120km over the high mountains or a gentle coffee spin before an afternoon of relaxation. In either case, you'll be expertly supported by our dedicated team on the road to help ensure you get the best riding experience possible on your break with us.

With its incredible rolling landscapes packed with fruit orchards, lavender fields and vineyards, Provence is one of my favourite places to ride. This wild farmland might have become a tourist mecca of late, but we’ll take you away from that to its hidden, beautiful edges.

A two-part thriller, this is a slightly more active Retreat than our other offerings. Starting in the old capital of Corte, we’ll use the winding trains of the interior to gain access to some of the best riding Europe has to offer. After a transfer ride to Porto Vecchio on the southeastern coast, we’ll enjoy a rest day by hitching a ride on our chartered boat to approach the city of Bonifacio and get lost in its endless narrow streets. A truly inspiring island – so good I spent my honeymoon there.

FAQ

  • Can I bring a non-riding companion?

    We welcome non-riding partners on our Retreats. We ensure that Retreats happen in regions where there are many activities to be enjoyed off the bike.

  • Can I rent a bike?

    We have a fleet of top-specification bikes available for hire on our European departures. We ask that guests requiring a bike tell us as far as is possible in advance, so we can guarantee the right size is available, and also to send us your fit measurements, so our mechanics can set up the bike for you ready for the start of your trip. If you’re renting a bike you need to remember to bring your helmet and pedals.
