The new City collection blurs the lines between life on and off the bike.22 March 2016
We followed three riders as they explored San Francisco by day and night, wearing and testing the range.
Urban riding can be a round-the-clock activity, so the City collection has been designed for riding throughout the day and into the night. The Merino Stand Collar is a double knit jumper, with a concealed wind-proof panel and reversible reflective cuffs.
“Riding from dawn to dusk provides the full spectrum of light conditions. The small details make all the difference for visibility but can be hidden away when you arrive at your destination.”Rob Saunders
Reflective details are a necessary feature for the city cyclist. Appearing throughout our knitwear range is the signalcuff, a turn-back cuff knitted with high-vis and reflective yarns. Visible when you need it but easily hidden when you don’t.
The collection pairs Rapha’s performance technology with a minimalist aesthetic. Each garment is designed with the rigors of daily riding in mind. Breathable knit patterns are linked with hidden windproof panels and tailored outerwear has been given a water resistant treatment.
“Layering is essential for exploring by bike. San Francisco boasts a wide range of weather - by day the pendulum swings wildly from gloomy ‘pea souper’ to sun drenched skies.”Rob Saunders
City riding demands versatile clothing that works across a range of conditions. The Pack Jacket is lightweight, stowable and protects against wind and showers. The Wool Wind Jacket offers warmth and weather resistance, ideal for San Francisco’s changeable climate.
