These stylish, slim-fitting shorts are made from a lightweight, breathable fabric and are designed for city riding in hot and humid conditions. The fabric is quick drying, has excellent stretch and is also crease resistant, making the shorts ideal for travelling.
The shorts feature crisp tailoring, including a smart, flat front and fly closure, with a high-cut back to ensure a great fit when riding. In addition to two front pockets, the back of the shorts feature one zipped pocket and one button-down pocket. Visibility details include a fold away hi-vis tab and hi-vis trim inside the legs which can be hidden away when not riding. Offset inseams guarantee comfort.
The cut of these Rapha City Shorts is more generous than in previous seasons. For the perfect fit we recommend downsizing by one size.
‟Light in weight and color, the slim-fitting Rapha Randonnee Shorts scream summertime city riding. Quick-drying, breathable fabric keeps you cool on sticky days, and an offset seam and high-cut back let you ride in comfort - and keep your back covered.”

hi. this randonnee is of "lightweight material for hot and humid" conditions. how does this compare with the cotton summer lightweight shorts (170gsm material)? which one would you wear for touring or leisure riding in the tropics?
What is the fabric? Nylon? Polyester? A mix?
I am a true 31" waste. What size do you suggest? 30" or 32"?
Someone asked a reasonable question about what the material was. The answer—"These Shorts are made of a quick-drying lightweight stretch man-made fibre"— doesn't cut it. What are these made of?
Concerning sizing, Selection is in numbers rather than S, M, L, i want a large so what number do I select.
I have a 20 mile commute in and out of work on a road bike. Can I wear these comfortably without bib shorts underneath or not? I.e. is there any padding in the lining?
What is the difference between the RANDONNÉE and the RANDONNEE shorts on the website: https://www.rapha.cc/gb/en/shop/randonn%C3%A9e-shorts/product/RDS04XX https://www.rapha.cc/gb/en/shop/randonnee-shorts/product/RDS07XX
What's the inseam length on a large?
