The Classic collection was our first ever range and remains the soul of Rapha. Unlike purely synthetic race kit, the Classic Jersey is crafted from Rapha Performance Merino (RPM150) — a proprietary blend of high-quality merino wool and recycled polyester. This fabric offers a luxury feel against the skin while providing natural temperature regulation and odour resistance. Combining a refined aesthetic with modern technical features like reinforced pockets and a bonded front hem, this collection is designed for the rider who values style, sustainability, and all-day comfort.

Our Classic cycling jerseys feature a Classic Fit, which is designed to be comfortable and flattering for a wide range of body types. While the Pro Team collection uses a highly compressive Race Fit for an aggressive, aerodynamic tuck, the Classic range offers a more relaxed silhouette. It is slightly longer in the torso and less restrictive around the chest and arms. This makes it the ideal choice for club rides and touring where comfort is the priority, though it remains streamlined enough to ensure no excess fabric flaps in the wind.

Yes, the Classic collection is exceptionally versatile across various climates. The merino-blend technical fabrics are naturally breathable and highly efficient at moisture-wicking, keeping you cool in the summer and insulating you if the temperature drops. For the height of summer, we also offer the Classic Flyweight Jersey, which uses a lighter version of our performance fabric to maximise airflow. Whether you are climbing in the heat or descending in the shade, the natural properties of the wool help regulate your body temperature far more effectively than basic synthetics.

Every Men’s Classic Jersey is packed with functional details designed for the road. It features three large rear pockets with a dedicated pump sleeve, alongside a zipped essentials pocket for valuables. A silicone-lined rear hem ensures the jersey stays in place even when the pockets are fully loaded. We have also included a soft zip garage to prevent chin irritation and adjustable drawcords at the hem for a personalised fit. These premium cycling tops are finished with our signature armband, representing a perfect marriage of form and function.

To maintain the performance and soft handle of your merino-blend cycling apparel, we recommend a machine wash on a gentle cycle at 30°C. Use a mild, non-biological detergent and avoid fabric softeners, which can damage the natural fibres and reduce breathability. After washing, reshape the garment while damp and dry it flat to ensure it retains its classic silhouette. Because merino is naturally antibacterial, you may find your Classic jersey stays fresh for longer between washes, making it an excellent choice for multi-day trips and frequent use.
