Thursday, 26 March - Sunday, 29 March
Sandwiched between the waves of the Mediterranean and the wilds of the Garraf Massif, Sitges is relatively undiscovered by cyclists. But it won’t remain that way for long. With over 300 days of sunshine, amazing roads and over a dozen pristine beaches, this small Catalan town offers great riding, and the chance to relax afterwards. To make the most of it all and kickstart the season, the Rapha Cycling Club will host four days of superb riding from our base at the town’s dedicated, cycling-friendly hotel, Le Bike Stop.
Arriving on the Thursday and riding for four days up until Sunday, the club will explore the varied landscapes of a lesser-known corner of Catalonia on routes planned by locals and led by RCC Ride Leaders. Each day, there will be rides of varying length to suit all members, taking in the region’s beautiful coastline as well as a few local climbs. While the scenery will change, the roads are all silky smooth and the weather should be warm and sunny at this time of year. After Sunday’s early morning ride, there’ll be time for the race fans to head into Barcelona to catch the concluding stage of the Tour of Catalonia.
Three nights’ accommodation in a twin room at the Bike Stop are included. Members can request single occupancy but must do so independently and at their own expense. The price includes breakfast each morning of your stay plus lunch and dinner on Thursday. All other café stops along the way and evening meals are at members’ own expense. Riders will be supplied with planned routes and receive a pack of weekend riding essentials. There’ll be mechanical assistance from a support car, ride food and an overnight laundry service at the hotel.
You should make your way to the hotel for 2pm on the day of arrival ahead of the first afternoon ride ahead of the first ride at 3pm. Expect to leave no later than 8pm, following our final ride on Sunday morning. A full itinerary will be emailed and posted on the RCC forum nearer the time.
It is worth mentioning that this is not an RCC Summit and all club members will be supporting one another throughout the weekend. If you have a friend who would like to try riding with the RCC, they are welcome to join you on this weekend.
