Description
The Deep Winter Gloves are made from innovative technical fabrics and constructed for excellent protection without compromising control. The outer shell uses a windproof, stretch nylon with a Durable Water Repellent treatment, which is then filled with Primaloft® insulation. A waterproof and breathable OutDry® membrane is then bonded to the shape of the shell to give an excellent fit (as opposed to the ‘floating’ liners used in many gloves) and finished with an insulating tricot lining against the skin.
The inside of the palm features a different Primaloft® insulation, originally created for snowsports and treated with a resin so it won’t slip against your skin when gripping the bars. Rapha’s trademark military-grade padding also features in key wear areas.
The palm has a synthetic suede outer face, providing abrasion resistance. Elasticated cuffs with a velcro closure are designed to fit snugly around a jacket sleeve. The gloves also feature reflective stripes and logos, as well as soft wipes on both thumbs.
Please note: The Deep Winter Gloves have been designed to accommodate the Merino Liners to add extra warmth on especially cold days.

Works, weird sizing, probably not for "very cold"
Definitely winter level, not sure about deep. They did well in 30F riding ~20mph, and wet, but not sure about colder. The pinky finger has a fabric texture that works with phone screens but it's awkward and doesn't always work. One important thing is to check the size guide: I'm normally an L, borderline XL for hands, and somehow I measured out at a M. They fit very snug so the chart is accurate but if my hands are remotely wet trying to put them on is borderline impossible. Considering how insulated these gloves are, for the money, I'd probably just get some nice snow gloves.

Good glove
Wore these in a range of temps from 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 Celsius) and below. Needed liners on most days. Definitely stayed dry but not as warm as I expected - fine above 32/0 without liners.

Deep winter gloves
Gloves are ok in normal temperatures but for cold weather when it gets down to around 5 degrees C they are awful. These are definitely not worth the money if you are looking at deep winter gloves. My hands were hurting by time I got to work which is only 20 miles.

Good winter gloves, expensive
Good winter gloves for gold conditions; however not recommended to be used without merino liners. By those, because otherwise these gloves does not provide enough warmth in very cold riding conditions or harsh conditions like high wind below zero degrees. These + merino liners is a good combination, but quite expensive.

heavy gloves but not sure they cover enough in very cold conditions. Size is not good; normally I have L but they were way too big. The M is pretty tight.

NOT winter gloves
Do not live up to the billing of winter, much less deep winter. I rode in these in 25 degree temps in New York City, was outside for a total of 20 minutes, and my fingers were not protected, had to endure a lot of pain warming them up again once back inside. They should truly be called mild winter gloves, for 40 degrees and above.

Great gloves
Nice gloves, I sized down to a medium from my usual Pro Team Large. Other reviews stated they were larger than expected, but if you want to use merino liners, go with the size chart.

Are the finger tips electroconductive? That is, do the gloves work with smartphones?
The fingertips are not electroconductive.

Can I wash the gloves in machine washing?
Yes they can be washed in a washing machine, but we do not recommend drying them in the dryer.

How do you reapply DWR treatment to maintain waterproofing?
There is a wash-in version of DWR treatment and there is a spray on version.
Feel free to use either, and please follow the instructions on the packaging to apply them.

I have hald the previous model for 5 years now, great glove! How better is the new model in following: Temp.range/fit/bulkiness/rainproof etc.?
The design was updated in 2018, the vendor, fabric and design was updated.
The temp range should be comparable. They still have a significant amount of insulation - 2 layer of polartec sheet. It is a water resistant fabric. The fit is the same.

My measurements are: knuckles:23cm/length:21,5cm. So I believe I'm in between M and L. I like to have a tight fit, but I sometimes I will need to have the merino liner as well. Should I go for Medium or Large when 75% is hand only and 25% merino liner?
Based on your measurements we recommend a size M.

What are drying instructions for these gloves?
These are to be air dried, laying flat and away from direct sunlight.

That would be without a liner. With a merino liner this will be lower, but to a certain extent it will be different for every rider.
