Smart everyday comfort with a slim fit
If you are unsure of which style or cut of trouser to choose, take a look at our new City Legwear Fit Guide
Offering a slim fit with a gradually tapered lower leg, the Cotton Trousers have been created as definitive, everyday wear for city riding. The fabric, 98% cotton twill with 2% lycra for stretch, ensures superlative comfort and fit and an excellent range of movement when riding. The fabric is also designed to wear in over time to create a distinctive patina.
The side pockets are zipped for the safe storage of valuables, and the right-rear pocket also has a zip closure. The left-rear pocket has a button fastening and a hi-vis pink tab which can be exposed or hidden depending on your style preference. The hi-vis pink piping on the inside legs provides versatile functionality, and can be hidden or revealed depending on the visibility required.
The cut of these Rapha City trousers is more generous than in previous seasons. For the perfect fit we recommend downsizing by one size.
4.5 / 5
Rapha have gone easy on the bike-specific features with their new trousers, preferring hi-vis flashes and a focus on fit. The result is a pair of perfectly-cut trousers that will become a wardrobe staple both on and off the bike, manufactured with the sort of care and attention to detail the brand has become renowned for. Many cycle-friendly features remain, however, the most notable being the slight stretch in the fabric and the zipped pockets.
– Graham Hutson, The Times
“There doesn't seem to be a catch with these trousers. They have a near-perfect balance of performance as a good pair of trousers and performance as a good pair of cycling trousers. They're an item of clothing you'll end up wearing whether or not riding a bike is going to feature in your day – a sure sign of a well-made product.”

Rapha Bidon - Large
I bought Rapha summer shorts size 36 at the weekend, would I get be the same size for these ? (other 36-sized shorts were abit too large). Also I have short legs (27.5 inside), so if I got these shortened would I lose the nice pink stripe?
Is it made by pre-shrunk Cotton Fabrics?
I wear size 30 in rapha jeans and they fit perfectly. The 30 trousers are a touch loose. Should I size down to 28? Which may be tight. Or will these shrink in the wash since is 100% cotton.
Is the "old" Original fit the same as the Slim fit now?
I've a pair of these in navy that I would like to buy an identical pair of in beige. My navy pair are 36 w x 32 l. Does the l correspond to short, regular or long?
I wear a size 30 in the loop caked trousers; what size would this correspond to for these trousers?
What is the leg opening measurement?
Please can you advise on the 'actual' waist measurements of the 32" and 34" sized trousers given that some of the feedback is inconsistent?
