Manchester loves cycling and with miles of spectacular riding on its doorstep in the Peak District and Cheshire Lanes it is easy to understand why.
The Rapha Clubhouse is spread over three floors in its home tucked discreetly behind St Ann’s Church. This is the only Clubhouse with a mechanic’s workshop. Upstairs is a café serving the finest food, coffee and a wide range of Rapha products and an exhibition space called The Gallery is on the floor above that, and has hosted many exhibitions including Bradley Wiggins’s personal memorabilia collection.
The Rapha Clubhouse hosts regular rides for both customers interested in taking their cycling to the next level and Rapha Cycling Club (RCC) members. Events such as film screenings, exhibitions and book launches are also regular features.
The worker bee has been the motif for Manchester since the industrial revolution, when the city took a leading role in new forms of mass production. Workers in the textile mills were compared to bees in their hives, and the term references perseverance, industry and teamwork. The bee provided the perfect inspiration for the emblem of the Manchester chapter of the Rapha Cycling Club (RCC) and its Clubhouse, Rapha Manchester.
