Description
The Flyweight Bib Shorts are designed for riding in hot and humid conditions. The shorts are made of an extremely lightweight, soft four-way stretch fabric - the lightest we’ve used in our bib shorts - that has been treated with coldblack® which reduces the build-up of heat. The upper section has a breathable and lightweight construction, with a thin mesh that stretches to fit over your shoulders. The chamois pad is the same perforated one used in the Pro Team Lightweight Bib Shorts. Featuring coloured uppers to pair with the Flyweight Jerseys, allowing you to look - and stay - cool as you take flight in the heat. The bibs are available in two lengths, regular and short, with a difference between leg lengths of approximately 1 inch. The short option is for shorter riders or those who prefer a higher hem on the thigh.

Run the tape around the narrowest part of your waist holding the tape horizontally.

Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest point of the hip, keeping the tape measure horizontal.

The main bib fabric is very shiny (looks a little cheap), and as such when wet (sweat) becomes very patchy. I'd imagine average cyclists want to hide their sweat not have it advertised.
The shoulder/support fabric is very thin (lightweight), thinner than I expected. Perhaps net time show some contrast in the mktg images to help customers understand the 'net/mesh' fabric that the bibs are constructed from.
(My last comment) I'm 1.8m tall, average proportions, and yet all my Rapha bibs are short on the leg. Long leg bibs don't seem to be common in the Rapha range and unfortunately this fact is turning me towards other marques.

Great bib shorts
Great bib shorts but has the standard Rapha pad. I purchased this bib shorts thinking it was a summer version in that the classic bibs I have are too hot for New England weather. Not so... the same pad as I’m the Classic in that it creates hotspots on the underside even at a low 70F. Fantastic quality and feel but pad performance needs better wicking and heat management ... a thick pad causes heat where you least need it. The pad quickly, turns to a wet diaper. They Should be great for spring and fall riding... other than the diaper effect - these are high quality, well fitting and true to size.

Great fit, style but one major flaw
I own several pairs of Rapha lightweight bib shorts which have been one of my Favorite bib shorts for hot weather riding. However after several years of great service they needed replacement and I opted for the latest version. I love the chamois which is thinner than most but really suits me and the overall compression feel which is supportive but not too restrictive.
Unfortunately the material of the straps feels very rough against the naked skin. When I tried these out on a turbo session for an hour I was left red raw marks where the straps rubbed against my skin.
I can work around this by wearing a summer base layer but I would have liked the option especially in high summer to wear them without a base layer.
Despite this I’m going to keep this pair and just hope that Rapha change th design for the coming summer season.

nice in hot and humid conditions
Riding in Iowa currently it is hot and humid. Out on the gravel you have to drop into a zen mode and accept the heat. Time of day is irrelevant, its all humid all the time. The shorts are great. They keep the moisture at bay as well as any short could. I ride them on and off road, gravel and cross.

How does the pad in these compare to that in the Brevet II shorts?
Hi, all our bib shorts have cytech pads and in this case the pad on these is actually more comparable to the one in the Classic bib shorts but with the perforation for quick drying.
