Description

Our take on a pair of classic five pocket jeans, the City Denim trousers are designed to work on and off the bike. Constructed from a high-quality cotton, nylon and elastane blend, the fabric is both durable and comfortable and will allow for improved movement and comfort compared with traditional denim. With three front pockets and two more on the back, there’s ample space for everyday essentials. All pockets are reinforced with rubberised rivets for durability. And for visibility when riding in low light, the inside of one leg features a highly reflective ‘Rapha’ logo and reflective high visibility pink grosgrain for side-on visibility.

N.B. The trousers are cut slightly slimmer than regular jeans, so we recommend sizing up to ensure you find the best fit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from They changed the cut & ruined the look :-( I've used the previous version of these jeans for several years and been extremely satisfied with them, but unfortunately they seem to have changed the cut, as the circumference at the calf/ankle has increased considerably. This ruins the look of the jeans, making them very unflattering -- my legs look like tree trunks in them. I thought it might be a sizing issue and therefore ordered them a size smaller but alas that wasn't the cause, as the smaller size was uncomfortably tight in the waist (and still wider in the calf than my old pair that I still use regularly). Unfortunately, it seems that this is not an isolated case as I had a similar problem with the technical trousers -- and I therefore had to send all of them back. Until Rapha goes back to the previous style with a more tapered leg, I will probably have to switch to another brand. Shame, really, as my Rapha jeans were my favorites and the best jeans I had ever owned.

Loved the Sprinters Jeans from years ago. How do these compare?

The City Denim are just a bit roomier than the Sprinter Jeans and they also use a more traditional 'non-technical' denim fabric, so they may feel slightly more restrictive as the fabric has less give to it.

how does this fit compared to the technical trousers?

These trousers have the same fit as the Technical Trousers, however the City Denim has a bit less stretch than the Technical Trousers.

What is the leg opening size?

These are a slim fit, straight cut denim jean and so the leg opening will narrows. However, this will vary depending on the size of the waist.
