Find out moreKC ACADEMY
When Kadeena Cox made the transition from track and field into cycling, she was struck by the comparative lack of diversity at the elite end of the sport. As the only Black British cyclist to win a gold medal at the Olympic or Paralympic Games, she was assured by her own success and concluded that the lack of diversity was not due to a lack of talent but a lack of opportunity and support. In 2021, she established the KC Academy partnership with SportsAid to break down barriers and create more pathways into the sport for riders from diverse ethnic communities. The funding provided by the foundation will help the academy support four emerging athletes and host open days in London and Derby to help identify passionate young cyclists with potential.

World Bicycle Relief is a non-profit organisation founded to help mobilise people through the power of bicycles. Their Communities on the Move program - supported by the Rapha Foundation thanks to our Black Friday Ride and Alt Tour initiatives - aims to significantly increase the mobilisation of communities in Kasungu, Malawi. Since affordable transportation options are largely unavailable in the area, the school enrolment rate is low, the reach of community health workers is limited and local farmers struggle to distribute their produce. Through the donation of more than 2,000 buffalo bikes to those who would most benefit from them, the program will help increase access to education, healthcare and trade opportunities for the people of Kasungu.

Established in memory of Charlie Craig, the 15-year-old British cyclocross rider who inspired many through his love of the sport, the Ride for Charlie foundation aims to support young off-road cyclists. Allocating funding to self-motivated individuals and small teams, the foundation seeks to continue Charlie’s legacy of inspiring others to ride. With a focus on developing talent in mountain biking and other off-road disciplines, the foundation's financial assistance will help get riders to off-road cycling events across Europe. Through the foundation’s support, riders can overcome financial barriers that may prevent them from fulfilling their sporting ambitions and will help promote diversity in cycling.

ABOUT THE RAPHA FOUNDATION
Rapha was established in 2004 to celebrate and promote cycling. Initially we did this by producing high quality road cycling clothing showcased in inspiring photography and stories. Since then, the company has expanded into many more product categories and established a thriving global community of cyclists. Rapha is fiercely ambitious about cycling, and we strive to see it become the most popular sport in the world.
At the start of 2018, Rapha published the Roadmap following a two-year research project that investigated how the 'shop window' of cycling – that is, the professional sport – could be made more exciting and more valuable. The recommendations in the Roadmap guide all of Rapha's investments, starting with a new approach to team sponsorship and leading to the launch of our charitable foundation focused on the grassroots of the sport.
