Description

A dependable, pocket sized mini-pump designed with SILCA, exclusive to members of the Rapha Cycling Club. Compatible with Presta valves only, the pump features a barrel made of a durable alloy, with a brass check valve for precise inflation and a silicone sleeve for additional grip.

This pocketable pump reaches higher pressures than any other ever tested in the BikeRadar test protocol. Unlike many other pumps of its kind, it does not suffer from efficiency loss when hot. Its Slide-Lock Silicone sleeve improves grip, and doubles as a handle lock to keep it compact in your pocket.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice pump but too big and bulky to carry Nice pump but too bulky and big to carry. I tried to like the pump but it was too big to be practically carried like I carry my Topeak pocket rocket. I prefer to keep my pump in the same pocket as my essentials kit, but it was not possible with the Silca Impero. It was too bulky and kept reminding you during the ride that you had a pump in your pocket. As I write this review, I just requested a return authorization and am sending the pump back. It just didn't fit although it performs well, but what good is a great pump, if you never reach for it before each ride. I never looked forward to taking the pump on a ride.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great. Works fine. If you like Rapha AND you like Silca, you clearly like nicely made expensive things. This fits the bill. It's a pocket pump so it's inherently terrible at inflating tires. It's also the diameter of their full size frame pump so it's a little awkwardly sized as well. But it matches the kit, and will probably last a lifetime. So I got one anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High performing and very stylish Not gonna lie, I bought it because it looks great. But had to use it twice today and it’s one of the best performing hand pumps I’ve owned. It’s not any easier than other hand pumps (it’s still a hand pump), but i had to do it for much less to get me back on the road again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality comes at a price You know you are getting something good quality when it comes to the Silca brand and this is no exception. Very compact and with a solid feel to it. The connecting system between pump and inner tube valve is airtight with the advantage of not being likely to strip the value head off an inflated tube. The handle locking system is pretty effective and this pump now goes with me on every ride. Luckily I've not had to use it in anger.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pocket perfect for aluminium rims This is incredibly reliable as a mini pump, fits in a back pocket nicely and looks great! Getting up to 85psi is no problem. However, because it attaches directly to the valve, I found that the action of the valve knocking against my carbon rim (even when trying to support it to stop it from moving with my hand) damaged the valve hole slightly. This would not be an issue with aluminium rims but since I have carbon ones I have switched to using a Silca Tattico which is slightly bigger and heavier and best attached to the bottle cage to avoid this problem because it uses a hose to attach to the valve. If Rapha made an RCC or Rapha Tattico (especially the Bluetooth one which shows pressure live on your phone) I’d snap one up. In the meantime, as long as I’m riding carbon rims, this will only be for display.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful pump I was due to cycle in Mallorca this week, and my friends told me I should leave the gas canisters at home and take a pump. I haven’t owned a hand pump in years, so I was looking around and everyone I spoke to rated Silca. I then remembered there was an RCC version, for the same price so I thought I’d get it. Sadly, just before we were due to head to Mallorca, everything went into lockdown. I’ve not had to use it just yet, but what I can say is that it fits very well into a rear jersey pocket, it looks the business and I’ve ridden a lot this week, maybe it’s a lucky charm. In terms of size, as mentioned before it fits really well into a jersey pocket. I rode just shy of 100km with it, and didn’t notice it at all. I am pretty sure I will carry this on my long rides from now on, instead of taking the gas.
