The Rapha Prestige tasks small amateur teams with an unsupported and unmarshalled adventure across stunning terrain. Unsupported and unmarshalled, the rules are simple: start and finish as a team, and pass through all the checkpoints.
Having inspired the world’s darkest fairy tales, the Black Forest is about to play host to a mystic Prestige. Small teams will need to master a variety of different terrain and challenges to reach the finish line from lovely mountain valleys on tarmac through to dense forests on gravel trails, climbing long ascents and manoeuvring the remoteness of the Black Forest.
Prepare for approximately 120 kilometres of gravel terrain and 2500m of climbing. Expect to be on the bike for around 8 hours. We seek out the roads less travelled, aiming to be quite remote at times. You need a gravel bike with offroad tyres. The exact route and details of the checkpoint locations will be revealed only to confirmed participants one week before the ride.
The Prestige Black Forest is a completely unsupported ride to be completed by teams of four. To make sure you’re self-sufficient out on the road and gravel trails, ensure you’re prepared for anything by bringing along two tubes, tyre plugs, a multi-tool, a pump, a patch kit, and a masterlink. We highly recommend a spare kit, plenty of food.
Minimum tire size recommendation for this Prestige is 35mm.
