Description
The Pro Team Insulated GORE-TEX Jacket was created for supreme protection when riding in the worst weather conditions. Its unique combination of fabric technologies and low-profile storm hood are designed to keep you warm and dry on rides that start and finish in cold, wet weather.
The first line of defence is a waterproof shell made with GORE-TEX SHAKEDRY™, a completely waterproof and highly breathable material reinforced with fully sealed seams. With the membrane as the outer surface, water simply beads and runs off. No saturated face fabric and no chill factor. Inside, the jacket is fully lined with Polartec Alpha® insulation – hydrophobic, extremely warm but low-volume and lightweight. The storm hood, made with waterproof and flexible GORE-TEX Stretch™ material, eliminates exposed skin and protects the face while allowing for range of movement during intense efforts. An angled zip prevents irritation at the chin. The same fabric features on the lower back for a stretchy fit over pockets and at the cuffs for a stormproof seal. Fully zipped up, protection from the elements is assured, but not at the cost of breathability. All three fabrics efficiently allow excess heat and moisture to escape and vents on the side of the hood aid hearing and peripheral awareness.

Almost perfect
Inside of the hood (near forehead) is without any cover - just membrane. During ride this place get a lot of sweat and it gets really uncomfortable for skin. Jacket could have some inner pocket too. That’s what I feel could be upgraded in next version. In total, jacket feels super good, gore is very flexible (completely different than in my climbing jackets which is super stiff). Polartec-incredibly good choice! Hood makes it also super sealed and warm. Project is very well designed with high quality. Now you can leave extra layer, buff and beanie at home. Just second skin and your Rapha gore-tex pro team

Amazing jacket
I bought this a few weeks ago and whilst expensive it has proven worth it. I would categorise the benefits of this into 3:
- the hood, what a revelation! On a cold morning you put it up with a cap underneath and it keeps your ears and face perfectly protected (tested down to 1c
- insulation, the jacket is so warm! I mean at 1c with just a rapha base layer i was the perfect temp!
- waterproof. Genuinely doesnt let any water through ever! Tested in a couple of prolonged downpours in the UK.

Works with a base layer down to -4%
This jacket is seriously expensive. Don't lose it. However it does three things well. 1) It keeps you drive - it really does - even in torrential rain. Unfortunately, I was able to test this feature. Shake the jacket when you get home and a miraculously large amount water falls off as droplets. I am curious whether this is a lasting feature. 2) It keeps you warm down to -4C. My glasses were fogging from my breath, my toes were already feeling it, but my core was comfortable with only a base layer underneath. 3) The hood really works. I never zip it higher than my chin, but my head and ears are warm. Designed to fit under your helmet and you don't look like a dork doing so. Is it worth the ludicrous price? No. Will you enjoy it every time you wear it? Yes.

Expensive but worth it
I wanted the version of this without the hood, but I dithered too long and they sold out. However I'm not disappointed, this is top drawer. It's amazing in rain, Repels the wind, it wicks and is also a really warm extra layer - the lining is a work of art. So it's my new favourite thing. It's very tight fitting, but you'd expect that because it's Pro Team. I love dual zips, every jacket or shirt should have them!

Great winter jacket for the PNW
So I'd been looking for a winter jacket for the PNW and this ticked all the right boxes for me. Rather than buying a series of winter jerseys this time I decided to just use this jacket over my fall kit. Having a two way zipper allows me to vent from below and above & the lower zipper allows one access to jersey pockets, so didn't really need the zippers on the back but I might become a believer. Came back from a rather dirty ride, zipped up, & turned the hose upone myself with confidence, truly water proof. Good for 45 degrees and below.

Excellent Jacket bar the zip
Bought the Pro team Gore Jacket with hood. Amazing warmth and insulation. Great even in -2/3 degrees Cel. Good with a merino underlay. Hood works well and easy to breath behind the neck and mouth piece. Only downside is the zip. Hard to pull up and down while riding. Zip is tough and the Velcro whilst good to keep it all in makes it hard if you need to cool down on a climb. If this was fixed it would be awesome. I bought a large. I’m 5’8, 104 around chest.

Only winter jacket you need
The day after I received this in the mail, I wore it for the Iron Cross race. Conditions were low 40s, drizzly, with several hike-a-bike sections and steep climbs followed by fast 50 mph road descents. With only a thin non-insulated base layer underneath, this jacket was amazing! Very warm but breathable and absolutely waterproof/wind proof. I’m done looking for winter jackets. The fit is tight and not flappy, and the hood is genius. Easy to open zipper one-handed with gloves.

Warmer than expected!
This jacket behaves differently to other waterproofs. It's as effective as polythene at keeping water out yet is so light.......bought the winter one cos erm its winter soon and despite the weight it's unbelievably warm. At 8deg its marginally too warm with a heat gear base layer underneath but it's doing what it's supposed to. I'm 6ft with 45inch chest and 34waist and xxl is right for me but it's a close pro team fit. A pocket would have been nice though for 310quid.

Can women wear this jacket
Yes, anyone can wear this jacket. It will have a bit more room in the waist and less room in the hips than our Women's jackets. We recommend sizing down from Women's sizing to Men's sizing for a similar fit.

Is the jacket designed to be worn with the hood down when weather not too torrential or freezing cold?
This jacket is designed to be worn with the hood up/on, but it can be worn with the hood down. It will simply need to be slightly unzipped in the front to do so.

Will this be suitable or too warm for 20-25° weather as riding in equatorial region. What will you recommend instead which is waterprpof and highly breathable for the above region
This will be too hot for 20-25 degree weather.
We recommend the Core Rain Jacket for warmer weather.

I have been looking at this jacket for many months but have yet to see any sizes larger than M? Why is this and are you going to release larger sizes?
The stock that we currently have left is from last year. We will be restocking this when our Winter collection launches. We do not have an exact restock date, but we recommend checking back in November.

Which jacket is warmer - this one or the Pro Team Insulated GORE-TEX Rain Jacket? And are they equally as waterproof?
Due to the fact that the Pro Team GORE-TEX Insulated Jacket has a storm hood, it would be the most waterproof and warm of these two.
The hood helps fully keep rain and cold from entering your jacket, keeping you dry, warm and comfortable.

Does the jacket need waterproofing/treating to keep it waterproof? I normally wear medium, but not worn pro items yet - I am short and stocky - should I size up?
As GORE-TEX SHAKEDRY™ garments have no textile outer layer, there is no need to use a DWR treatment. With regards to the fit, if you normally wear a medium I would recommend an upsize as these are a race fit and so sit close to the body.
