The Pro Team Insulated Gilet makes use of lightweight synthetic insulation to create the perfect outer layer for hard rides in cold and dry conditions. Positioned strategically in key areas where it’s needed the most – on the front and over the shoulders – the 65gsm recycled insulation delivers class-leading warmth without the volume of down and is highly breathable, ensuring you don’t overheat during harder efforts. Equally fast-drying and hydrophobic, the gilet won’t hold moisture, allowing you to work up and sweat without wetting out. A windproof front panel with a durable water-repellent (DWR) coating keeps your chest warm, while stretch woven side and back panels accommodate full jersey pockets. With minimal trims throughout, the gilet packs into pocket when not in use.

This is my second Pro Team insulated gilet & it’s a big disappointment & nowhere near as protective, warm or practical as the original version which contained polartec insulation & rear pockets both of which are absent on this updated version. The original version has been worn over a winter jersey at temperatures as low as 4 degrees & been excellent, by contrast this is paper thin with little in the way of insulation & on a ride of about 9-10 degrees left me feeling cold. Probably ok as a Spring/Autumn piece of kit in temperatures of about 10 - 14 degrees but not for the UK winter. On the plus side it has typically good looks & style on its side.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Missing A Step I wish I could update a product review at a point in the future as I've only been able to wear this gilet two times. Perhaps I'm not choosing the correct weather for the vest but it's not provided the warmth I was expecting. The insulation is kept to a minimum in order to ensure the gilet is lightweight and packs well but I wouldn't say it delivers substantive warmth when compared to the standard mesh back gilet. While I usually don't mind paying extra for Rapha design and build quality I'm not sure the value is there. I'll continue to put miles on it in hopes the issue is with the rider and not the gilet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 2022 version not as good as the previous version I have the 2022 version of this gilet and the previous version. This version I have only given 3 stars for two main reason. The fit is not as great, particularly the rear is not as long, nor as fitted and rides up the back. It also doesn’t have pockets like the previous version which were great for this more cold weather gilet that you’re likely to wear for the majority of a ride. I’m not sure I prefer the change from polartec insulation to the newer version either… the previous version was definitely 5 stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sad to see the pockets gone This has always been my go to gilet for fall and winter riding but I was dissapointed that the rear pockets were taken off this version. The last version is still my favorite piece of Rapha kit and this one will probably stay tucked away until that one is no longer usable. It is still a good vest but it has lost a lot of its functionality as a great winter piece.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Brevet Gilet versus PRO I own a Brevet Insulated Gilet for a few years now. It has been from the start a complete HIT ! I really really love the versatility, fit and function . I bought the Pro Team version because I needed a Black gilet more than anything. I have now used it enough to comment and compare with the Brevet Gilet. The pro version is (of course) a bit tighter fit. Also shorter in the back. My feeling is that it is also less insulating as the Polartec versions. Both have no pockets - Rapha must have reasons for that - and I would like to compare once if that would be a good thing or not. I can't say that I miss pockets, yet I do believe that for the PRO version, pockets might help as it tends to creep up on the back side. The Brevet doesn't. What does bother me if I compare both, is the FLAPPING around the shoulders when its windy. Unfortunately, we have a lot of wind here. So today, with this experience, I would probably wait and see if a black Brevet version would come out or seek other alternatives for a black version. I believe the Brevet version is the better buy here.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good gilet but sizing didn't fit me I have 1 long trusted rain gilet from Rapha and its my absolute go to for chilly autumn/spring mornings, however it isn't available anymore (still waiting). I thought I try the insulated gilet instead, the product is as stated on the website. Nothing wrong with the product apart from the fit. The rain gilet is a snug fit on my body (size M on 178cm height and 92cm chest) however the insulated gilet is a little loose, perhaps its to help with layering up if need be. The issue I had was the flaps from the wind I get during my rides which resulted in my returning the product.

Bought a SM & M, both of which I found too form fitting, and the Pro fit too short in the front. Maybe good for skinny road riders? Returned a went with the insulated Brevet which is the way to go IMHO.

Shouldn't the Pro Team Insulated Gilet be lighter and more packable than the Brevet model? The Brevet has the insulation also on the back...how is it possible that the Pro Team weighs 60g more? Thank you

No, the Pro Team Insulated Gilet uses an entirely different type of insulation and is made of a heavier outer material as well. Although the Brevet Insulated Gilet has more thickness when worn, it is lighter weight and more packable because of the thin material it is made of and because of it's lighter weight insulation.

You have indicated a weight of 200g for size M...you also declared a weight of 140g for Brevet Insulated Gilet in size M. So what is the correct weight of the two garments? The Brevet Insulated Jacket in size M weighs 245g (personally verified).

I was looking for a garment that cuts the wind, offers warmth without overheating, and easily packable in the jersey pocket, to wear in summer on mountain descents, or when the weather suddenly changes and there is need additional warmth..is it suitable?

Hi What are the main difference between pro team insulated gilet and the same in the brevet range ? Sizing is more adjusted, not compactable ? Is the brevet warmer ?

The fit is designed for racing and training on the Pro Team Gilet, only half of the back is insulated, the whole back of the Brevet gilet is insulated. The Pro Team version is lighter and easier to fit in a back pocket.

Those colours are not the same orange. The Peach/Orange colour of this item is brighter orange than the Dark Orange of the Men's Pro Team Long Sleeve Thermal Jersey.
