Simple, quality bib shorts for everyday riding

Simple, quality bib shorts to complement any ride, the main panels use a dense-knit fabric for support and modesty and laser-cut leg grippers lined with soft silicone for a close, comfortable fit. The bib section uses high-stretch material, machined efficiently for even distribution of stretch and to accommodate longer torsos. Flatlock seams are positioned carefully throughout to hold the shorts in place without chafing. The shorts are available in an entirely black colourway, or with a white bib section to prevent straps showing under a light-coloured jersey.

If you are unsure of which bib shorts to choose, take a look at our new Bib Shorts Guide »

“The Core collection is about optimising innovative fabrics and processes across the entire collection to reduce production hours and wastage. For example, the leg-gripper trim reappears in the jersey back, the material for the zip guard is used again on the sleeve tips, and bindings use rolled edges. This means we can produce Core garments without compromise, leading to a new standard for everyday cycling apparel.”
Alex Valdman, Creative Director

Reviews:

“I told my $500 Assos bibshorts that I had a new favorite and they slammed the door to the Kuku Penthouse in my face. But it’s the truth. The Core bibs are Rapha’s entry-level offering but they surpass that designation in both price and quality.”
9.3/10 - VeloNews

“Rapha's Core bib shorts are an impressive mix of knowhow from premium ranges – giving good quality, comfort and a great fit.”
★★★★½ Ash Quinlan, Road.cc

“The bibshorts are a particular highlight of the range. Flatlock seams join smartly-shaped panels, meaning chafing isn’t an issue and Rapha sensibly hasn’t compromised at the heart of the shorts – the Core bibs are built around the original Classic chamois that remains as comfortable as ever. As a result the Core bibshorts punch well above their weight at this price point. It is a similar story with the jersey – the polyester it uses feels more organic than synthetic, and has been treated with an antibacterial process so still smells reasonable even after repeated use.”
★★★★½ Sam Challis, cyclist.co.uk

“Rapha's most affordable bib shorts to date don't skimp on quality or comfort.”
Jim Clarkson, roadcyclinguk.com

“For weekday training and commuting, Rapha have totally nailed it. Bravo all round.”
Graham Hutson, The Times

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my commute Bought these as part of the core bundle and have been super impressed with quality and level of comfort I get from these bib shorts. On really cold days, I've paired these with Rapha leg warmers and it's worked a treat. Can't think of any reason why I'd pay double the price for other shorts

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow I have ridden many top end brands and without even needing to mention how good of a deal this is, these bids are the best. Overall the material is next level luxury. The chamois is the most comfortable I have ever ridden, it was cloudesque. I am 6'5" with a 34 inch waist and the large was just fine. There was no riding up or bunching that I noticed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most comfy shorts I have worn. These are by far the most comfy shorts I have worn - better than Assos. I have had issues with the longevity of Rapha products in the past, and time will tell on this one.

I have a 34 inch waist and my inside leg is 29 inch. I am five feet six tall. What size bibs would you recommend please?

Asked by: Dickie Davies
For this garment I would recommend the large sized based upon your waist dimensions, though the leg dimensions you have given may mean the shorts could have a slightly longer fit. If the garment does not meet with your suitability then you can return these to us under our 90 day returns policy.

Hey, I'm a 32 inch leg and a 34 inch waist. I'm a little bit of medium and large. Which size would be best?

Asked by: kingcolers
Based on your sizes we would recommend the Large Bib Shorts rather than the Medium

Hi - I know the Core pad is size specific, but is the pad the same size in both the (M) and (S) sizes? Both sizes fit me, but I'm curious about the pad size / width.

Asked by: Jimty
The Chamois pad will be different in the Medium and Small sizes. The three pad sizes would be XS/S, M/L and XL/XXL.

Hi. What size would you recommend for someone with a 33in waist? Size up to large, or down to medium?

Asked by: pelhamdoug
We would recommend sizing down rather than up as excess material can chafe when riding

Hi was wondering what size to get as i have the lightweight shorts in a Large with short leg option and find the a little to snug . so was thinking more to the x large ? As waist is closer to 36 than 34 ..

Asked by: Phillip outlaw
The XL Bib Shorts would suit a 36 waist better than the L. Please refer to the sizing guide on the product page to ensure correct leg length also.
