Waterproof wool coat with removable insulated gilet

The perfect garment for life in the city, the Wool Coat combines fine tailoring with functional features to protect you from the elements. The outer fabric, woven in Switzerland, is a three layer laminated wool blend, bonded to a waterproof breathable membrane for all-weather protection.

With a removable insulated gilet, this coat is ideal for a wide range of temperatures, right through the seasons. A DWR (durable water repellent) finish and waterproof membrane in the fabric provides protection in rain showers, and fully taped seams keep out the worst of the weather in heavier downpours. An AquaGuard® zip at the front of the coat protects against head-on rain.

A snap closure vent on the rear hem creates an opening at the back, so that the coat can be worn comfortably on a town or commuter bike. A reflective strip concealed within the vent offers an element of visibility when open.

  • Wool blend fabric backed with a waterproof inner membrane work together to protect you from the elements
  • Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish on the face of the fabric provides protection from the rain
  • Sealed seams act as a barrier to wind and rain
  • Snap closure vent on rear hem for protection from road spray
  • Laser cut vent holes in armpits for ventilation while riding
  • Weather-resistant AquaGuard® zip
  • Reflective strip in the rear opening for visibility in low light

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fashionable, legit bike gear on the down low. Great styling and fit. Very well constructed. Well designed and stealthy pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit This coat would not fit any better if it were bespoke and the material is top grade and. Living in Montreal Canada, I had the opportunity of trying the coat in minus 12C weather. It completely blocks the wind and, wearing a merino sweater underneath, provided ample heat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just beautiful The fabric, design, attention to detail and level of finish are well in excess of my expectations even though my previous experience with Rapha products had already raised those fairly high. It's unlikely I'll ever bike in the rain wearing this but I'll wear it plenty elsewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality built Jacket A lot of effort has been thought engineered in this jacket.- From the quality materials.. the cut, the pocket designs.. the detachable vest inner.. a piece of work !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waterproof, looks great, watch the sizing I definitely recommend this coat. It looks great, is both waterproof and warm enough for a recent trip to Helsinki. Sizing: I’m reliably a Rapha Medium for everything (70kg, 175cm), but the medium in this coat felt more like a large. I switched for a size Small, which is just about perfect (sleeves still a little long off the bike). Only design issue is the zips on the exterior pockets, which tend to bury themselves in the seam, making them hard to unzip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from stealth bike wear for everyday I been looking for a coat with a zip-out vest for a little bit of warmth in spring, fall, early winter and rainy days without the vest in summer. I use it all the time to go to work or on weekends. Its a great coat. Can easily fool people into believing its a basic trench coat but when you touch the fabric it feels very high tech - perfect! My favorite features are the two way zippers so when I get in a car it wont cinch up when I sit down. The zipper side pockets are great. There's lots of little touches. The pink strip to hang you jacket is the only thing that give away its a piece of rapha kit. that and the very subtle left arm band in matching material and color. overall quality is very high. Usually i'm between a mdeium and a large. This time the medium worked out great. EWven looks great with a transfer jacket under it. Improvements would be to have one inner pocket somewhere in the front (maybe even in the vest), and longer pull tabs on the side pocket so its easier to open/close pockets. right now they get stuck in the nook of the zipper and pocket. My wife said it looked very stylish when we were going to see family over thanksgiving. It seemed pretty pricey but after shopping around, its not a bad deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favourite everyday coat Using it for a few months now and I'm really impressed - light, comfortable, no sign of wear. I'm 190cm/87kg and L fits perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing construction I bought this two weeks ago and have worn no other coat since! It’s fairly lightweight though, even with the gilet, so not an out and out winter coat, but massively versatile for smart or casual.

I’m 5’10’/155 lbs. with a 40” chest. I wear a Medium (snuggly) in most Rapha garments. I’m interested in this item for casual wear and may occasionally wear a sweater underneath. What size would you recommend?

Asked by: Toco1
We would recommend that you try the Large Wool Jacket based on your chest size

How long is it waterproof capabilities guaranteed for ? thanks

Asked by: RobEast
The period of waterproofing depends on the way in which the coat is treated, washed and worn. Regular maintenance of the jacket and cleaning of material when material builds upon the outer. Reproofing the Jacket on a regular basis will preserve its waterproof qualities

Hi, I usually wear an XL for your jerseys etc (190cm, 82kg, 104cm chest, 36cm arms) and would like to wear this coat for casual and work i.e over a sweater or jacket. Is the XL version going to be big enough or is XXL a better option

An XL Jacket would be a suitable size for this item based on your chest size
