Technical outer layer for cold-weather cycling

The Pro Team Jacket is designed for high-tempo interval training in cold weather. When you are riding on the limit in low temperatures, breathability and protection from the elements is essential. Using an innovative windproof Polartec® softshell with a perforated membrane and water-repellent treatment on the leading panels, the rear panels are made using Super-Roubaix for insulation and wicking where it matters. The jacket has a higher-cut waist at the front and lower hem at the back for an ‘aero’ fit, while the high collar offers greater protection in cold and wet conditions.

PLEASE NOTE: Sizing for this edition has been altered for this season to align with the rest of the PRO TEAM products. If you have a previous edition that fits well, you should now order the size up.

NB: The Pro Team Jacket is not fully waterproof. We recommend packing a Rapha Rain Jacket with you as a waterproof outer layer for training rides.

‟The adaptability of the Pro-Team jacket is what has made this one of Rapha’s out-and-out success stories. It is one of those rare items of cycle clothing that is suited to such a wide variety of climates - from autumn right through the winter to spring - that you’ll struggle to want to put anything else on.”
The Times, 30 January 2015

‟For years, I held onto an old team jacket by Giordana for cold rides because of its feel and function: fleecy and warm but not suffocating, with a svelte, race cut. Now I go for the Rapha Pro Team jacket, for the same reasons – plus the fact that it looks good. Granted, as a grown man who wears tight pants in public, I realize I am not fit to judge aesthetics. But my wife, who generally rolls her eyes at cycling apparel, actually likes this one. So there's that.”
– Bike Radar - Best Bike Gear of 2013

"I’ve really enjoyed using this jacket. It doesn’t have the warmth of some other winter jackets, but for its stated purpose – fast training sessions where you’re going to be working hard – you can’t argue with that. It’s biggest draw is the fact that its so much more lightweight and slim-cut than most other jackets of this kind."

"Where the fleece and wind-blocker membrane double up, the jacket remains extremely thin and light, but still does a good job of keeping you warm. All this makes for a very versatile piece of clothing. With a heavy base layer it will be enough (in the dry) down to around six or seven degrees, with a thin, sleeveless string base layer – and the zip partially undone – you can use it up to 14-15 degrees. With a rain cape over the top it will be enough in even colder weather."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm, great color, works well for small women After my 3rd year of road cycling in NYC I finally bought this to replace an old winter jacket that never actually kept me warm in the winter. I'd never been much of a winter rider because of my hatred for the cold. With this jacket I actually rode in sub freezing temps and enjoyed myself. The inside is super soft and with the proper layers can handle some pretty cold (ie sub freezing) temps. The color stands out nicely against the gray winter sky. Even though this is a men's jacket, it easily fits a woman. The sleeves are a bit long, but not enough to really notice while riding. I'm an XS in most rapha women's products and and a men XS in this jacket fit me great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Winter Standard Fit notes: I'm 5'11" and ~155lbs. Chest is 39, Waist 31. All my Rapha tops (base, jerseys, vests, jackets) are size S. All my bottoms (bibs, leg and knee warmers) are size M. Socks and oversocks are always XL for my size 44s (I like them high without over-stretching) This jacket/ jersey is now my favorite piece for winter. A little less warm/ cozy than the Winter Jersey but more high performance. You adjust for outside temps by varying your base layer underneath. Wind blocking is very effective (it's on the outside vs the Winter Jersey's inside panels) yet breathability is amazing. You just don't feel damp on the inside. Tight, aero fit feels fast and looks fast. Pro Team is the way all cycling clothes should fit. Do not size up as that effectively negates the purpose of the range. Lose weight instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even better than expected Another great product. Well tailored so does not flap in the wind. Wide temperature range. Reflective accents work better than expected. Water resistance fine for light showers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool to cold weather magic wearing this for interval training at 0 - 5C with a merino base layer. Perfect. Breathes, protects from the wind and the fit is something you forget about when riding - as it should be. Cheers rapha.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Second Skin for Winter I was surprised by my level of comfort on a 5 hour ride with a median air temperature of 30F; wind chills briefly as low as 10F. With only a LS merino base layer underneath, this garment is so light and free of encumbrances that it rarely came to mind that I was wearing anything at all. That is probably the best compliment I can pay to a garment of any kind--so comfortable one forgets it's on. Note that I tend to run warm, but for me, this jacket is the perfect balance of breath-ability and wind protection--enough to keep me from freezing solid on long descents, but not so much that I boil over on the way up. I do have one very minor gripe: the zippered smartphone pocket could use another cm of length; an iPhone 5s with a headphone jack is an awkward fit. Gripes aside, this is the best winter item I have ever owned by a large margin. For rides with a median temp above 40F, it's killing a mosquito with a cannonball. Below that threshold, this is my new winter skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Perfect Bought this for cold weather riding and it's perfect. It's warm (but not unbearably warm) and it does a great job at blocking the wind while still breathing. I'm 6'2" and 185lbs. and the Large fits me like a glove. I really appreciate the length of the sleeves since I have longer arms too. I honestly can't find anything to complain about, this jacket was well worth the price and I have zero regrets except for not buying it sooner. I purchased the green version, and can say it's a really nice lighter green. I feel very visible in it without feeling like I'm wearing 80's neon green. You've made the perfect riding jacket Rapha!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite It's so nice to have a softshell jacket that's nicely tailored and has Rapha style. It's fleecy and sheds water well. I've worn it for hour-long commutes in pouring rain very comfortably.
