Poor replacement for the Randonnee shorts
I have two pairs of the Randonnee shorts that I live in, day in day out. I love them. Seeing that the Randonnee had been discontinued, I ordered the Technical Shorts as they appeared to be the replacement for the other product. The Technical Shorts do NOT have the same sizing; I ordered the same size as I wear in Randonnee but they are WAY small. I can't even get them all the way on, let alone zipped up and buttoned. I am so disappointed.

Bring back the Randonnee shorts please!
Baggy, saggy, poor cut, and returned for a refund. Rapha has stated this is their replacement for their Randonnee shorts, but it is a lousy, poor imitation of what was a superior product. Disappointing

Thinner than Randonee, no zip pockets, buy on sale
Personally I do like these shorts but they are nowhere near as good as the Randonee shorts, which I have 3 pairs of. One of the key differences is that these new style shorts don't have zip pockets, which are so valuable for shorts intended to be used in activity. These shorts are also much much thinner in material, which I expect will be great in warmer climbs but not so great for the UK.
These are nice shorts in their own right but they are also incredibly overpriced, even for Rapha, so I can see why people would not be happy. I bought mine in the sale and at the price I paid (£50) I would say they are appropriate value. At full price I would probably never have purchased, or sent them back when I received them.
Bring back the Randonee shorts please, they are great kit so don't fix what isn't broke.

How is the fit relative to the randonee shorts? Are the legs more spacious or similarly fitted?
The legs are a bit more relaxed fitting than the Randonnee Shorts were.

Would you need a padded insert when wearing these.??
Many riders opt to wear these off bike on days they intend to commute by bike. They do not include a chamois, but a chamois can always be worn if needed.
