Description

A quality gilet is a cornerstone of a cyclist’s kit, providing a lightweight layer of protection from the wind that can be worn on top of anything, from a summer jersey to a winter jacket. The original Brevet Gilet was launched in 2011, and its reflective stripes have been seen on long-distance epics, commutes to work, and everything in between.

Our latest iteration pairs wind-blocking fabrics on the chest with carefully positioned mesh panels across the shoulders for temperature regulation. The middle pocket cleverly opens out into a full width pocket ‘bag’, allowing you to easily store extra clothing or the provisions required for a long-distance ride without having to cram them into smaller pockets. The now iconic Brevet reflective and hi-vis stripes remain across the chest and back, while improved mesh side panels stretch to even accommodate full jersey pockets. The zip is now two-way, improving versatility for temperature regulation and access to jersey pockets. Even more packable than before, the Brevet Gilet remains the go-to for those in-between moments when a jersey isn’t warm enough and a jacket would be too hot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great gilet I bought this for early morning starts and cooler Spring/Summer days and it is exactly what I was looking for. It keeps out the chill and I have even been caught out in the rain when wearing it. Now it is not waterproof and I was aware of that but it keeps the wind chill out when wet. On warmer days it folds up and fits easily into a rear pocket. Plenty of room in the 3 rear pockets for any gels or your phone etc. Sizing wise I bought a Large and I'm 188cm tall and 104cm chest and approx. 84kg. A perfect fit with no flapping. I highly recommend this gilet, a great addition to my cycling wardrobe.

Its a good fit across the chest & loose enough around the arms, so not too constricting when riding. The pockets on the back are a good feature for phone or snacks & It packs down easily and fits easily into my jersey pocket. The construction is great, the front blocks wind on a cold morning & the mesh back is good for air flow. I like the high neck as it gives you that little bit of extra protection. The reflectors are a good feature, however if you ride early morning you may want to go for a lighter/brighter coloured jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit. Nice zip. Fits well not too tight but doesn't flap. Keeps me warm enough on spring rides without getting too sweaty. Nice zip that I can undo easily whilst riding. Also zip from both bottom and top great for cooling off a bit on a climb. Great to have pockets on too. Very minor issue is that it doesn't pack as neatly another gilet I have - the reflective strips feel a little bit stiff, and doesn't fold into a pocket or pouch. But very minor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great vest but... I love this vest and have worn it on numerous rides. It is amazing how much warmth this thin vest provides by blocking the wind. I love the style and fit and it is well made. The only downside is the material is thin and I ripped a tear near the rear pocket trying to put something in the pocket. The hole doesn’t affect the function of the best other than I now very carefully place items in those rear pockets. The sizing is snug but certainly not race fit. Very stylish and functional piece of kit.

Bought because of the pockets which allow essential items to be reached during a ride instead of trying to reach into a jersey pocket underneath another gilet. Found it sized slightly smaller than I was expecting (am 1.85 m tall, 96 cm chest and 72 kg). Tried both M & L and found M was too tight across chest / under my arms and too short in the body so went for L.

Here'a my measurement C: 87 W: 79 H: 92 I think I should order the small one because of the chest size under 91 and the hips at 92 but my waist is a little bit over 75. I think the medium will be loose, what should I do?

Based on the measurements you've provided you fall in between a Small and Medium in the Brevet Gilet with Pockets. We recommend sizing up when you fall in between sizes, and would recommend a size Medium for you.

What temperature range is it recommended for?

The Brevet gilet is recommended to be worn on top of a jersey during cold / mild conditions , between 5 to 20 degres celcius.
