The Explore Leg Warmers are designed for rides that take you off the beaten track. Lightweight and packable, they are well suited to all-day adventure rides and multi-day bikepacking when protection from the elements and trailside obstructions is needed. With a high-stretch woven fabric on the front, they provide significantly improved abrasion resistance when compared with our regular knitted warmers. The thigh and back of the knee are covered with a soft and breathable alternative fabric for added comfort, while wide silicone printed grippers hold things in place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good tech design but not a women's fit Love the idea of these leg warmers - especially as I'm getting into gravel riding. Good technical design especially the different material on the thigh that doesn't 'cag' as easily if pass through trees and brush. Brilliant idea. Good quality grippers. Quality material and I expect them to last a long time. Nice length, BUT they are not really cut to allow for slightly larger thighs of most women - they seem designed with men's leg shape primarily in mind. I'm not saying all men have narrow legs at the top, but more women have wider legs at the top than men and we are not catered for by these cycling accessories. I tried both small and medium - gripper size of medium at top was great, but too baggy throughout the leg. gripper size of small at top very tight and gives sausage legs, but nice fit throughout the rest of the leg. I find most manufacturers do this sadly - leg warmers just need to be cut slightly wider at the top than they are, and use 'non-sausage leg' grippers to be a winner for women. I've only found one company out there that does a different range style leg warmers for women and men - and that is just brilliant. It's a shame because Rapha usually to a fab job of designing women- specific products. Would be great if they would do the same for the accessories line too (e.g wider leg warmers at the top and slightly shorter, slightly shorter arm warmers, etc) I've canvassed opinion of my other cycling lady colleagues and they agree so it's not just my leg shape that's a bit wider at the top - I guess because we generally have wider hips. I understand Rapha's approach as all the cycling companies do this (apart from one that I've found that that make women specific leg warmers). But wouldn't it be good if Rapha's commitment to women-specific cycling kit also extended to the accessories rather than just jerseys and shorts/tights? Food for thought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to the Cargo Bibshorts These legwarmers are a great addition to the cargo bibshorts. I was considering the winter bib but decided on the leg warmers (lot cheaper). Last week I did a 200plus KM ride starting in -4C temperature. The leg warmers in combination with the Cargo bib were very comfortable I didn’t get cold legs. They don’t pinch while riding. The silicone grippers work real well in keeping them in place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting new addition Interesting - these aren't as warm as the merino leg warmers and did feel somewhat cold when I first starting out the house with them (this soon went). Feel comfortable enough they have no tightness behind the knee. The fabric on the front is interesting and attracts its fair share of muck & dust when riding which was slightly disconcerting at first - then I realised this easily brushes off. On the whole very good and the job described.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Leg warmers for the road less traveled. Used these on long gravel ride. They were good on a day that started pretty chilly and warmed up. Couple hours in they came off. They seem a little less compressive then other leg warmers . Different layers kept them from being too much.

Where exactly on the thing should one measure the circumference? The widest part?

I am trying to size the these leg warmers. The inseam doesn't make sense. Just because a thigh is 20-24, that doesn't mean the person's leg gets much longer.

Our sizing does account for larger as well as longer legs between sizes. The size chart, however, is simply a guideline to let you know that if your leg has an inner length of 32-34 inches a size Medium would fit best or if you have an inner leg length of 36+ inches a Large would fit best. This is not directly representative of the actual inseam length of the leg warmers. The actual inseam of these leg warmers in a size Medium is 62 cm (24.4 inches) and this changes by 3 cm between each size.
