Highly technical cycling gloves for cold and wet conditions

The Deep Winter Gloves are made from innovative technical fabrics and constructed for excellent protection without compromising control. The outer shell uses a windproof, stretch nylon with a Durable Water Repellent treatment, which is then filled with Primaloft® insulation. A waterproof and breathable OutDry® membrane is then bonded to the shape of the shell to give an excellent fit (as opposed to the ‘floating’ liners used in many gloves) and finished with an insulating tricot lining against the skin.

The inside of the palm features a different Primaloft® insulation, originally created for snowsports and treated with a resin so it won’t slip against your skin when gripping the bars. Rapha’s trademark military-grade padding also features in key wear areas.

Overlayed onto the palm is an outer face providing abrasion resistance - on the black gloves this is made from Pittards leather and on hi-vis pink a synthetic suede overlay is used. Elasticated cuffs, with a velcro closure are designed to fit snugly around a jacket sleeve. The gloves also feature reflective stripes and logos, as well as wipes on both thumbs.

Please note: TIf washing these gloves, once dried, glove balm should be applied to the leather panels on the palms to keep them supple. The Deep Winter Gloves are part of the Rapha Glove System and are designed to be worn with the Merino Liners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent in bad weather. In one single day, these gloves saw: 1.) over an hour of heavy rain at 9 deg C, 2.) an hour and a half of 20 to 40mph winds at 5 to 6 deg C 3.) a chilly 1 deg C with high winds a good 8 hours later (paired with the merino liner) My fingers were bone dry and warm throughout (a tad too warm at 9 deg C, but with how heavy the rain was i didn't regret wearing them one bit). I have only have a couple of MINOR gripes - you can tell these have been made with the merino liner in mind, as without the liner you can feel the extra room compared to other gloves that come in large. They're also canny ugly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gloves for Canadian winters I bought those gloves together with Merino lining. I rode some endurance slow pace rides in them in -5C and hands are nice and warm. I always had cold hands in the past when riding endurance tempo. This glove system is just amazing. The only drawback is they do not have "touch" capability to flip Garmin screens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Best winter gloves I own, and in my opinion the best I have seen to date. Warm, waterproof and not too bulky considering the insulation and padding. Very comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent gloves Glad I bought these, my hands are the warmest they have ever been while riding in winter (so far -2 to +5 degrees). I'm confident these would be ok down to -10 and with a wind chill too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best yet I have last year's black version with leather palms but I wanted pink hi viz for indicating. The material is warmer than the Black ones. I used at sub zero temperatures with 20mph winds and kept me warm with good grips and Di2 changing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm at last! Over the years I have bought numerous pairs of gloves for the winter as I seem to struggle more than most with icy hands. These have been the best purchase ever, although it has not got too cold yet I was already wearing two pairs of my existing collection, so it looks like they'll be well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pair of winter gloves These gloves have saved my winter riding season!! Tested in minus 5 and the finger tips got a little chilly but didn't go numb, a first for my fingers in that temp! Only improvement would be better grip on the palm - they are a little slippery on aero bars with no bar tape!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good Performance in cold weather has been fantastic so far. Have ridden down to around -4 degrees C and the gloves have performed well even without liners. Pretty sure they could be pushed further with the addition of glove liners. Sizing was a little tricky, my hand showed up mid way between the medium and large glove on the Rapha size guide. I initially purchased the large but they were in fact too large. The mediums are perfect.

Are this glows supposed to be quite thick on the upper side on the middle of the palm? Do they stretch in general after some time or i need 1 size up if i'm gonna use merino liner in to feel more comfortable? I purchased size as pdf draw suggested.

Asked by: vykosav
Hi, this gloves are quite thick as they are for deep winter riding. They can be used with thin liners. They will get more comfortable with use but they will not have much give in stretch.

At what temperature (degrees Celsius) do these gloves keep the heat of the hand? This applies cycling around 2.5 - 3 hours. Of course, with the use of MERINO LINER.

Asked by: Mariusz1
These gloves are technical cycling gloves created for cold conditions, with thicker padding, heavier insulation, and a velcro closure. However, as we all regulate temperature differently it is hard to advice on the temperature range for individuals and differing exertion levels will also affect its properties.

Hi, I bought these gloves a year ago. Love them. Think they are really great however I’ve noticed they are not 100% waterproof (I’m talking in serious 3-4 hours of rain) should DWR reapplicator be applied to this product or do I need the Neoprene gloves?

Asked by: Harveylxxxx
Hi, the main affect of water on these type of garments is usually down to the amount of hours they are exposed to downpour as water will eventually sip in through extremities such as the cuffs and through the stitching. When washing waterproof garments it is advisable to re-reproof the garments after washing.

Hi, Can these gloves be machine washed? The info says not to do everything except this. If so, what temperature? Thanks.

Asked by: Cl246
Hi, these gloves can be machine washed. Please do so at 30 degrees Celsius, using non-bio detergent. Let the gloves air dry. Do not place on a radiator or in a tumble dryer.

Is the shell fabric for both the colors the same material? The pink looks quite translucent while the black feels more durable. Is that so? Thanks.

Asked by: Ankurrius
Hi, the shell fabric used is identical in both colourways.

Hi, I take it Pittards leather would not be vegan, correct? Thanks

Is the hand length for the total length of the glove or is the cuff in addition? I am 18cm wrist to finget-tip but I'd like another 7cm of cuff. Is the knuckle measurement the measurement of my knuckles or of the liner in the glove at that point?

Asked by: Aileen
Hi, the cuff is in addition to the hand length, although this is probably slightly less than 7cm. The knuckle measurement is the measurement of your knuckles.

Hi. Do they work with smartphone touch screen ?

Asked by: mm_specialized
Hi, unfortunately the amount of insulation needed for these gloves to provide adequate warmth, means they do not work with smartphone touch screens.
